Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page Photo Hunt has been reverted.
Your edit here to Photo Hunt was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links which are discouraged per our external links guideline. The external link(s) you added or changed (http://https://www.facebook.com/pages/Photo-Hunt/227296307297700/) is/are on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia.
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Thanks! --XLinkBot (talk) 13:52, 28 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute to the encyclopedia, one or more of the external links you added to the page Megatouch do not comply with our guidelines for external links and have been removed. Wikipedia is not a collection of links; nor should it be used as a platform for advertising or promotion, and doing so is contrary to the goals of this project. Because Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page before reinserting it. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia.

Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Megatouch with this edit. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Because Wikipedia uses the nofollow attribute value, its external links are disregarded by most search engines. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it. Thank you. Katieh5584 (talk) 14:24, 28 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for spamming or advertising. From your contributions, this seems to be your only purpose. If you would like to be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first.

Hello Kathleenglica. We welcome your contributions to Wikipedia, but if you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about in the article Megatouch, you may have a conflict of interest or close connection to the subject.

All editors are required to comply with Wikipedia's neutral point of view content policy. People who are very close to a subject often have a distorted view of it, which may cause them to inadvertently edit in ways that make the article either too flattering or too disparaging. People with a close connection to a subject are not absolutely prohibited from editing about that subject, but they need to be especially careful about following the reliable sources and writing with as little bias as possible.

If you are very close to a subject, here are some ways you can reduce the risk of problems:

  • Avoid or exercise great caution when editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with.
  • Be cautious about deletion discussions. Everyone is welcome to provide information about independent sources in deletion discussions, but avoid advocating for deletion of articles about your competitors.
  • Avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).
  • Exercise great caution so that you do not accidentally breach Wikipedia's content policies.

Please familiarize yourself with relevant content policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. Thank you. ukexpat (talk) 14:34, 29 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

No, by "undoing" recent changes made by other users. Was not able to view any links under "references" so was attempting to find malicious advertising link (not posted by us)by undoing recent changes, then viewing page Kathleenglica (talk) 17:35, 29 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

"link (not posted by us)" "Compnay wikipedia page" - you don't seem to understand that Wikipedia is not here for you to advertise your company or its products. This is (or was, if it's been deleted) an article about a subject, not a "company page" for the company to re-write as it will. --Orange Mike | Talk 17:40, 29 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

there was no ads on the page, and none of the links led to any page that sold anything. Someone had posted a link that directed readers to a site that DID sell stuff (BMI Gaming), I was trying to take that downKathleenglica (talk) 17:47, 29 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

You added links to Facebook and Twitter to an encyclopedia article! More to the point, you still haven't addressed the conflict-of-interest issue, and indeed appear to be avoiding acknowledging it. --Orange Mike | Talk 18:27, 29 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

there was a link to the following : http://www.bmigaming.com/ that someone had set. I don't know what that is, and was trying to remove is all. I did not create the page, but it represented a product that my company does in fact make. We have never posted links to any site that sells anything. BMI Gaming DOES appear to be trying to sell something, I wanted that removed. I was simply "undoing" changes to see if that would result in the removal of the link to BMI Gaming. When it did not, I was unable to revert because I was told that there were "intermediate corrections in progress" I'm not entirely sure what the conflict of interest is. I did not make the page, but as long as it's out there, I do not want people think we're trying to sell, and was therefore trying to remove the link that led to BMI Gaming's webstoreKathleenglica (talk) 18:36, 29 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

A note

[edit]

Conflict of interest is where someone edits a subject very close to them - for more details see WP:COI. You seem to be working for Megatouch or somewhere close to them, so you have conflict of interest. You wish to have the company seen in the best light, in other words. We want to have an unbiased view - hence the use of the word 'conflict'. As you seem fairly unfamiliar with Wikipedia's workings, may I suggest reading WP:PRIMER which is for newcomers, and explains quite a lot and points to further information. It probably points to WP:OWN amongst others, but just in case it doesn't, it's worth looking at. Peridon (talk) 09:58, 1 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I will add that your editing history (including your deleted contributions) show no evidence of you attempting to remove a link to bmigaming, but rather you added it by undoing someone else's edit. But that's irrelevant, perhaps just newbie confusion about editing and reverting.
However, the fact that you don't appear to understand what a conflict of interest is, and the fact that you have indicated an intent to involve yourself with articles in which you have a conflict of interest, doesn't fill me with confidence that you will resume constructive activity if unblocked. ~Amatulić (talk) 21:09, 6 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
