Before you create an article, make sure you understand what kind of articles are accepted here. Remember: Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, and while many topics are encyclopedic, some things are not.
It is highly recommended that you place this text: {{Educational assignment}}

Welcome!
[edit]Hi, and welcome to the Birds WikiProject! As you've probably guessed, we're a group of editors working to improve Wikipedia's coverage of bird-related topics.
A few features that you may find helpful:
- Our navigation box points to most of the useful pages within the project.
- Most important discussions take place on the project's main discussion page; it is highly recommended that you watchlist it.
- The project has several departments, which handle article quality assessment, detailed article and content review, outreach, and other tasks.
- If you're looking for something to work on, there are many articles that need attention.
- Read our current newsletter, and sign up for (or opt out) of future issues.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask any experienced member of the project; we'll be happy to help you. Again, welcome! We look forward to seeing you around! MeegsC (talk) 01:25, 21 September 2012 (UTC)
American Coot
[edit]Thanks for expanding this article, just some feedback. I made these changes based on
- On Wikipedia, bird species are always fully capitalised, that's an agreed exception to the usual lower case rule
- Section headings should only capitalise the first word, except of course for proper nouns
- Refs should immediately follow punctuation

Edit Summaries
[edit]Use them! Haha, I remember reminding you about them. Maybe you'll notice that I posted here also. Hi Kathee. Legend Talk 06:33, 16 November 2012 (UTC)
Disambiguation link notification for November 28
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that you've added some links pointing to disambiguation pages. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.
- Leptothorax acervorum (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver)
- added a link pointing to Boreal
- Scaly-breasted Munia (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver)
