The article The International School @ ParkCity has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Notability not established and as written looks like an advertisement

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Eeekster (talk) 01:20, 25 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Guidance on notability

[edit]

Hi Katewkl,

Wikipedia has its own guidance for notability that may not be the same as your intuitive sense of what is notable. Wikipedia is an encyclopaedia of general knowledge rather than an index of profiles of companies and people. Each article needs several independent reliable sources to show significant impact on the historical record. The guidance for organizations is given at WP:ORG and for biographies WP:BIO applies.

If the articles you are creating have reliable sources to support the criteria defined in that guidance then you may have a reason to keep the articles from being deleted which you are welcome to raise on the article talk page or on any linked deletion discussion. If you are associated with the organization, person or product the article is about then you must follow the conflict of interest guidelines and avoid editing the article yourself but you are free to suggest and discuss changes.

Rather than starting "live" articles, you can create a draft first which allows you to get your article properly sourced before risking speedy deletion - see Userspace draft and Userfication.

If you would like some independent help you can ask one of the noticeboards at WP:Requests or try chatting with other Wikipedians on #wikipedia-en-help connect.

Thanks, (talk) 06:57, 25 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Drafts and 'userfying'

[edit]

Hi, I can see you are working on creating The International School @ ParkCity. There are two distinct problems you have to address to avoid deletion. Firstly, primary schools or non-high schools are not considered automatically notable (per WP:OUTCOMES) and most frequently such articles get merged to an article that includes a list of primary schools in the region. Secondly, in this case there may be plans for the school to become a high school but the principle of WP:CRYSTAL applies and would normally expect such an article to only be created once that happens. If you are unable to demonstrate sufficient notability against the general organization notability criteria (WP:ORG) it would be possible to userfy a current version as a draft that you can continue working on in your userspace until you have a clearer rationale against the general guidelines or the school has firm claims to be a High School (such as having a license as such). If you wish to have a version userfied now or at a later time, leave a note on my talk page and I would be happy to do this for you. Thanks (talk) 07:04, 25 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
