Welcome!

[edit]

Hello, Katetha, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of the pages you created, such as Phil Lester, may not conform to some of Wikipedia's guidelines, and may not be retained.

There's a page about creating articles you may want to read called Your first article. If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the New contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type helpme on this page, followed by your question, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Here are a few other good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you have any questions, check out Wikipedia:Questions or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! - MrX 15:25, 22 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Phil Lester requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. - MrX 15:25, 22 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

  • Hi. I've undone the CSD tag as the article's subject is mentioned on the BBC Radio 1 website. However, because your article is a biography of a living person, we have very strict standards, and anything that is not mentioned in that source (or any other reliable source such as a newspaper or magazine with wide distribution) cannot go in the article. Even you personally know other information, it cannot go in the article without a source. Furthermore, surviving speedy deletion is only one hurdle, as with only a single brief source, the article still may be deleted via a discussion at Articles for deletion. [edit]

Please stop adding unreferenced or poorly referenced biographical content, especially if controversial, to articles or any other Wikipedia page, as you did at Phil Lester. Content of this nature could be regarded as defamatory and is in violation of Wikipedia policy. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. - MrX 17:04, 22 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

This is your last and only warning. You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you vandalize a page, as you did with this edit to Posh. Widr (talk) 17:26, 22 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

You have been blocked temporarily from editing for persistent vandalism. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions. If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding below this notice the text , but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first.  Alexf(talk) 20:20, 22 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a message letting you know that one of your recent edits has been undone by an automated computer program called ClueBot NG.

Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Dan Howell with this edit. Your edits appear to constitute vandalism and have been reverted or removed. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. Ducknish (talk) 01:33, 25 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to vandalize Wikipedia, as you did to Dan Howell with this edit, you may be blocked from editing. Eyesnore 01:45, 25 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing because your account is being used only for vandalism. If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding below this notice the text , but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first.  De728631 (talk) 18:36, 28 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

I understand what I did was wrong. It will not happen again

Decline reason:

You have had plenty of warnings, and already been blocked, so you knew the consequences of your actions. Why did you not learn at the time?   An optimist on the run! 17:08, 7 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the unblock template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Request reason:

I have had a week now in which I was banned, and I see where I was wrong. There are also others on this IP who need it. I will not vandalize again.

Decline reason:

I don't see any evidence of any other editors on this IP, other than one vandal. --jpgordon::==( o ) 19:09, 7 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

There are others on this IP. They just don't edit. I have made good contributions to Wikipedia also, and I can promise you I will not vandalize again.

Decline reason:

If others are only using the IP to read Wikipedia, the block does not affect them. This unblock request has been declined due to your history of vandalism and/or disruption to this encyclopedia. However, we are willing to give you another chance provided that you can earn back the trust of the Wikipedia community. To be unblocked you need to demonstrate that you are willing and able to contribute positively to Wikipedia. You can do this by:

  1. Click the Edit tab at the top of that article;
  2. Copy the portion of the prose from that article that you will be proposing changes to. However:
     • do not copy the "infobox" from the start of the article (i.e., markup like this: ...);
     • do not copy any image placement code (i.e., markup like this: );
     • do not copy the page's categories from the bottom of the page (i.e., markup like this: );
     • do not copy the stub tag (if there) from the bottom of the page (i.e., markup like this: Foo stub);
  3. Click edit at your talk page, and paste at the bottom under a new section header (like this: == Article title ==) the copied content but do not save yet;
  4. Place your cursor in the edit summary box and paste there an edit summary in the following form which specifies the name of the article you copied from and links to it (this is required for mandatory copyright attribution): "Copied content from exact Name of Article; see that article's history for attribution."
  5. You can now save the page. However, if your edits will include citations to reliable sources (which they should), place at the end of the prose you copied this template reflist-talk and then save.
  • Now, edit that content to propose significant and well researched improvements by editing the selected portion of the article. Please note that we are not looking for basic typo corrections, or small unreferenced additions; your edits should be substantial, and reflect relevant policies.
  • When you are done with your work, re-request unblocking and an administrator will review your proposed edits.
    • If we (including the original blocking admin) are convinced that your proposed edits will improve Wikipedia as an encyclopedia, you will be unblocked.

If you need help while working with your proposed edits, you may add "your question here ~~~~" to your talk page. Thank you. Yunshui  09:36, 8 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

If they don't edit, it doesn't matter if the IP is blocked; it doesn't stop anyone from reading. --jpgordon::==( o ) 22:34, 7 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Ways to improve Phil Lester

[edit]

Hi, I'm Meeeeeeee39. Katetha, thanks for creating Phil Lester!

I've just tagged the page, using our page curation tools, as having some issues to fix. Explain sources on the Refrences section - ie. what the source is.

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, you can leave a comment on my talk page. Or, for more editing help, talk to the volunteers at the Teahouse. —Preceding undated comment added 12:20, 15 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
