Advice again on where to take a dispute

Hi, Kateshortforbob,

I could use a little direction again after your helpful advice.[1] As you remember, User:Neutralhomer was making reverts of my edits in TV station articles, explaining them only as vandalism. Neutralhomer announced he was retired. Then, as you suggested, I stated the issues on the WP:TVS discussion page.[2] Getting no response after many days, I continued my edits.

An anon IP started similar blanket reversions. After I filed a sockpuppet report Neutralhomer revealed it was him.[3]. He now continues making reversions (in retirement), only saying that the edits are vandalism.[4]

Another editor and I tried RfC and mediation but the pattern is consistent: Other editors cite Wiki rules and guidelines (WP:COATRACK, WP:BIO, WP:V, WP:OR, WP:NOTINHERITED, WP:DIRECTORY) that Neutralhomer is not following. He doesn't question those, but instead shifts the arguments to "That's the way we've always done things" and "I think it's useful information" and "You have to get approval from WP:TVS before making changes". He claims he checks the material in TV articles on a regular basis, but a sample showed issues even with the non-notables given citation.[5] (Piano non troppo at 18:09, 12 June 2009 (UTC))

Neutralhomer has a history of angry disputes with other editors. Of having his tool rights taken away. As soon as one method is used to confront or to control him, he shifts to another. Is there a practical way to stop this editor from adding material contrary to Wiki? I can live without the abuse, but the real issue is that his editing is far outside guidelines, and he defends changes to it as vandalism. This affects the quality of hundreds of articles, so it seems to me to be worth pursuing. Regards, Piano non troppo (talk) 20:43, 2 December 2009 (UTC)
