A tag has been placed on Uhlmann Pac-Systeme, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam as well as Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. ukexpat (talk) 15:26, 27 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Ulhmann deletion

[edit]

Hi Kartonierer. This is something you really should take up with the administrator who deleted the page, User:Orangemike. But I had a look at the article and, to be honest, I agree with the deletion. When an article about a commercial organisation includes writing from the perspective of "we" (for example, "we specialize in...") it's pretty much a red light to administrators on this project. The section about their products also had a bit of a promotional look to it, IMHO. The English Wikipedia has its own content policies and just because something exists on the German Wikipedia or on another language project doesn't mean that it will automatically be accepted here as it's still required to pass our content policies and guidelines. The other thing is, the article didn't really explain why or how this company is notable or cite any sources. The most important thing on the English Wikipedia is to cite reliable sources - newspaper, magazine, journal articles, books etc for information in the article. The article you translated didn't have any sources at all, just the external link to the company site. Are you somehow involved with this company? I ask because in reviewing your request I looked on Google and at the company's website and on the German section of the site I noticed they have a page which is the same as your username, but I don't speak German and don't know what it was about. If you are somehow involved with them, please be aware that the English Wikipedia has a Conflict of Interest guideline which strongly discourages people from writing about their families, companies, employers, etc. Instead if an article subject meets our inclusion guidelines (in this case, specifically, WP:CORP) such a person may list the article to be created at WP:REQUEST as an alternative to actually writing it themselves.
