Blocked for revert-warring
[edit]It seems you broke the 3RR on Minorities in Greece (2 Sept, 15:51, 2 Sept, 21:20, 3 Sept, 09:00, 3 Sept, 09:51). I've therefore blocked you for 24 hours. (Normal would be 12h for a first offender, but given the time of day in both our timezones, that would be lame.) Fut.Perf. ☼ 20:22, 3 September 2007 (UTC)
Well it's the first time a get blocked, I don't know exactly what to do in order to communicate with you and I don't know how appropriate is to write here. I have already send an e-mail to you according to what a View source page writes but there is no response and I was in the middle of creating a new article, Mende (Greece), when the block started. After all these I strogly believe that my block, although justified since I indeed reverted more than three times, is not correct since the initial edit that I reverted was made by an anonymous user [1] who tried to include a source that according to me involves pseudohistory and nationalistic claims as I explain here [2] After many reverts the whole matter was in a way resolved as you can see from the talk page. So I really consider not only my block, but also the other user's one not correct. I hope you would respond me. Kapnisma ? 21:59, 3 September 2007 (UTC)
- Hmm, this is a bit tricky now. If, as I think, the anon 162.* is in fact User:Revizionist, then he let you down on your provisional agreement, since he resumed reverting under the anon IP tonight, and in fact went on a really disruptive reversion spree with several subsequent IPs. So, if I block him, I'm really supposed to take equal measure on both sides, you see. Also, I notice that you were revert-warring recently on a few other articles too, though below the 3RR threshold. -- Well, I guess I could unblock you to let you continue with your good work on the new articles, under condition you stay away from all the contentious articles and reverts for as long as the block would last. Would that be okay? Fut.Perf. ☼ 22:13, 3 September 2007 (UTC)
That's fine by me Kapnisma ? 22:18, 3 September 2007 (UTC)
- Okay then, happy editing. Fut.Perf. ☼ 22:20, 3 September 2007 (UTC)
- I've unblocked. Not sure if there is still some autoblock around; I can't find one but my suspicion is the tool isn't working correctly. If you have problems please use an {unblock-auto} request; I'm going to bed now. Fut.Perf. ☼ 22:22, 3 September 2007 (UTC)
I can't still edit so I will use this {unblock-auto} request. Please note that I am not so acquainted with all these Internet stuff, so excuse me if I do something wrong Kapnisma ? 22:30, 3 September 2007 (UTC)
- Should be working now. Sorry I couldn't lift it earlier, the tool that automatically finds these critters isn't working correctly. Fut.Perf. ☼ 22:39, 3 September 2007 (UTC)
Nice work, but...
[edit]Nice work on the Mende (Greece) and Olynthus pages. Just one thing, I'm afraid the image Image:Plan of Olynthus.jpg won't fly, copyright-wise. This is not really what the "poster" fair use tag is for (it's for advertisement posters used in discussing the advertised product), and you currently have neither a fair-use rationale nor source info, plus it would be replaceable with some free map (self-drawn for instance). Fut.Perf. ☼ 06:55, 4 September 2007 (UTC)
- Okay, thanks for your understanding. You can just remove it from the article, then I'll delete the file. Inkscape can be useful for making maps, I've used it myself (see my commons contributions), although I found the learning curve to be fairly steep. Good luck! If you have technical problems with the programme, you could try asking me, although I can't guarantee I'll have much time helping with this one. There's also the guys at Wikipedia:WikiProject Maps. Ethnic Macedonian symbol
[edit]Kapnisma, as you see i am ready for compromises, and have always made compromises in Greek and Macedonia related articles, so I would like to be tolerant. I have never stated that the ancient Macedonians are direct ancestors, nor have I said that they were or were not Greek. The userbox I made has the unofficial symbol of ethnic Macedonians. The state symbol is different from the ethnic symbol. Greek Macedonian symbol is a golden sun on a blue background. Ethnic Macedonian symbol is a golden sun on a red symbol. See [Symbol of Ethnic Macedonians]. This is our ethnical symbol, and it is a very intimate thing. Revizionist 17:02, 08 September 2007 (UTC)
That anon
[edit]Hi, just wanted to inform you that that 151.* anon is User:Flavius Belisarius, who I just blocked, so he can be reverted without regard to the 3RR no matter what he does. He's on his usual wikirage socking spree. He'll settle down eventually. Fut.Perf. ☼ 18:48, 8 September 2007 (UTC)
