Denmark vs. Iceland
[edit]On November 21, 2007, Denmark played a Euro 2008 qualification match against Iceland at Parken Stadium in Copenhagen, Denmark. The match ended with a 2-1 win for Denmark. There were three changes in the Danish starting line-up, compared to the match against Northern Ireland: Ulrik Laursen and William Kvist replaced Martin Laursen and Brian Priske in the defense and Jon Dahl Tomasson replaced Thomas Kahlenberg in the offense.
The Danish team consisted of 23 players, which Morten Olsen named on November 6 and November 11. Olsen chose not to select Daniel Agger, Michael Gravgaard and Lars Jacobsen because of injuries. Daniel Jensen was banned for this match.[1][2][3][4]
The game commenced at 20.00 CET on November 21. The first goal was the Danish scored after 49 minutes by Nicklas Bendtner, but 12 minutes later Warren Feeney equalized. 10 minutes before full time David Healy sent Denmark out in the dark, and the possibility for qualifying for the championships gone away. Morten Olsen all 3 substitutions, hereby a comeback to Dennis Sørensen.[5]
