Rashtrakuta
KNM, the current "Rashtrakuta" page should actually be "Rashtrakuta dynasty" (just as Chalukya dynasty). However a page called Rashtrakuta dynasty already exists with a redirect to Rashtrakuta. How do I redirect back to Rashtrakuta dynasty?Dineshkannambadi 22:12, 22 March 2007 (UTC)
Thanks for the correct redirect. Now the title is consistant with Chalukya dynasty.Dineshkannambadi 22:13, 22 March 2007 (UTC)
- KNM, Rashtrakuta dynasty was spelt wrongly during the redirect. sorry I should have mentioned earlier.
The "h" is missing.Dineshkannambadi 01:40, 23 March 2007 (UTC) The mistake I made was in the LEAD which I think you copied over. Sorry.Dineshkannambadi 01:47, 23 March 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks. Yes, this is consistant with Chalukya dynasty.Dineshkannambadi 22:08, 22 March 2007 (UTC)

Fort Queenscliff
Thank you for your input. All the references I can currently find make the claim, so I have used it. However I am in the process of continuing a search to verify it. I believe it may need to be clarified as the first Artillery firings of ww1 and ww2. It seems odd that something wasnt happeing in Europe before these orders were given. thats doesnt mean its not accurate. Its just enough to make me want to find out more. perhaps the article needs the story behind these actions. Jampire1 12:14, 23 March 2007 (UTC)
Hi, the information is referenced from
Tate, Jim; A History of Fort Queenscliff, 1988
A soldier's five minutes on the Fort: A concise history of Fort Queenscliff, Fort Queenscliff Museum, 1982
Fort Queenscliff museum: Victoria's premier coastal fortress, Fort Queenscliff Museum
Fort Queenscliff Museum: Guide book, Fort Queenscliff Museum, King Street, Queenscliff, Victoria 3225
its also mentioned in some of the other texts in the bibliography. I am stillt rying to find information that suggests otherwise. But its beginning to look like my concerns were unfounded. Jampire1 04:20, 26 March 2007 (UTC)

Re: Rashtrakuta Dynasty
Hi, regarding Dinesh's article, Rashtrakuta Dynasty, I know there were redirects and a name change which you helped Dinesh with. Now every once in a while when I save the article after a small change, I get the error message "Wikipedia does not have an article with this exact name" and an empty template with no article. Using the back button and trying again has worked so far. Do you think there is still some sort of redirect problem going on? Sincerely, Mattisse 14:16, 23 March 2007 (UTC)

- Hi KNM, Please have a look at the edition I just made. I think it's a pretty good candidate for DYK. The reference for that section is in Deccan Herald link that is already provided. What do you think? Gnanapiti 02:34, 24 March 2007 (UTC)

Western Chalukyas -> Western Chalukya Empire
KNM, I proposed to change Western Chalukyas to Western Chalukya Empire in line with Hoysala Empire (The "dynasty" term is more applicable to the original Chalukya Dynasty of Badami which spun off two later kingdoms, eastern, western). Do you see any technical problems arising from this now that Western Chalukyas is nominated for FAC? One reviewer likes the idea of the change.Dineshkannambadi 22:34, 23 March 2007 (UTC)

something went wrong with the name change in that the discussion page no longer reflects the FAC discussion. can you look into this please?Dineshkannambadi 13:44, 24 March 2007 (UTC)
Thanks a bunch for your help. I always found linking a pain. No wonder I became a hardware Engineer and not a software guru.thanks.Dineshkannambadi 15:30, 24 March 2007 (UTC)
- While we have been busy with History/literature related articles, we have neglected
Nature related ones. Recently "Silent Valley National Park" (Kerela) and Kaziranga have some for peer review and FAC I think. Having been involved in Wildlife photography/birding etc for almost a decade, I feel guilty that I have not done anything here. After Rashtrakuta becomes FA (hopefully), I will try to focus on Bhadra/Nagarahole/Bandipura/BR hills/Rangantittu one by one in parallel with History. All the photographs in my albums are just waiting to see wikipedia.Dineshkannambadi 17:14, 24 March 2007 (UTC)

I beleive that was a POV comment - a reviewer saying the effects were pretty special for 1926. I don't think there is any info to argue this so I'll rmeove it I think. Sorry my mind is rather occupied with the List of Films at present its difficult to get back into my article mode!! ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "I've been expecting you" 20:20, 26 March 2007 (UTC)
Please can you reference the reception section I have given the source for you thanks. I would appreciate it if you try to reword the synopsis a little as well. Thanks. I'm afraid I'll be easing back on the articles for a few days as I have to fill in the List of Argentine films!! HOever once this is done I'll be on track again to producing some more great articles which we can between hopefully get on the front page again! How about Did You Know? ... That Bengali poet and director Buddhadev Dasgupta won the Special Director's Award at the Venice Film Festival for his 2000 film Uttara? ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Expecting you" "S.P.E.C.T.R.E" 16:57, 28 March 2007 (UTC)
I'm sure we'll find another fact. Have you looked at the article! ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Expecting you" "S.P.E.C.T.R.E" 17:12, 28 March 2007 (UTC)
It is true that many directors win awards at film festivals but the Venice International Film Festival is one of the mainstream notable ones not one of those many small special interest festivals. THe Venice festival is the oldest film festival in the world and is up there with the top festivals and only awards the most acclaimed people in world cinema. THe Special Director award is quite an achivement at such a festival. ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Expecting you" "S.P.E.C.T.R.E" 17:20, 28 March 2007 (UTC)
Possibly. To be honest I had no idea the film I was starting was related to LGBT -thats not my sort of thing at all! The fact would make it seem like I started the article for such a reason! Its a pretty good starter articcle though so I'm sure either way it'll look ok as a DYK. ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Expecting you" "S.P.E.C.T.R.E" 19:44, 28 March 2007 (UTC)

Info with Images
General question. When I uplodaed most of my own images, in the image file I did specify they were taken by me and also provided the month/year. However I did not specify in text the actual location where I took it, though I have all the info recorded in my albums. Is it ok to re-edit the image file and add this info. I want to make sure my images are not misused by others (if you know what I mean). The image file is however generally named after the place or the Temple or both where I took the photograph (example:Belur_Chennakesava_frieze.jpg OR Balligavi_kedareshwara.jpg). Do you think this is something worry about and worth investing my time in.Dineshkannambadi 18:27, 28 March 2007 (UTC)

Re: DYK nom on Reserve heads
Thank you for putting forward the article I put together on Reserve heads up for a DYK nomination.
Just wanted to let you know that I went digging and found the original proponent of the theory (German Egyptologist Ludwig Borchardt) and have added it to the article. You might want to amend the nomination accordingly (or not for the sake of brevity -- it is now in the article after all.)
