Bruce Hafen article
[edit]Thank you for your good faith efforts on the Bruce Hafen article. Being a new user, please see the talk page and if you have issues you'd like to address, please do it there before continuing to just revert all the updates to the article. The talk section I noted references the need for some of the changes I have made. This includes simple things like not capitalizing general authority, as per WP:LDSMOS. You should also be aware of WP:3RR. Thank you! ChristensenMJ (talk) 18:39, 21 March 2017 (UTC)
- Thank you for your message. I greatly appreciate any help that I can get being new to Wikipedia. The text that I was attempting to update was sent by Bruce C. Hafen himself and I was asked to update the "Biography" and "Publications" section as per his instructions in that text. That is why I made the edits. I do notice that in your text there are a few missing citations. Also, there are corrections that need to be made in the "Publications" section. My edits contained all of that information including the correct citations and references. Thank you! KLBrown (talk) 19:12, 21 March 2017 (UTC)KLBrown
- Thanks for the thoughts. There are a couple issues to note here. One is to be aware of conflict of interest, not only for your own involvement, but also for Bruce Hafen. It can get tricky when individuals are trying to edit an article about themselves. That typically won't be satisfactory in the WP environment. Adding some additional publications is certainly fine. Yes, there are plenty of missing citations, or areas that could benefit from providing a citation. Those are not due to my editing. I did remove a paragraph that tried to convey notability and specifics about teachings or writings he has shared. That also circles back to conflict of interest, along with what is appropriate for an encyclopedia-like article. ChristensenMJ (talk) 21:29, 21 March 2017 (UTC)
