You are skating on thin ice, KHarbaugh--you could be blocked for edit warring, for instance, or worse, you could be blocked/topic banned for violating guidelines related to "post-1932 politics of the United States and closely related people"; you've been warned already about that. I strongly suggest that a. you stop trying to insert that material against consensus, and b. that you consider what Wikipedia is. It is not, for instance, a free-speech zone or a place where someone can go and set some record straight without citing reliable sources. Thank you. Drmies (talk) 19:07, 26 April 2019 (UTC)

[edit]{{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}
. Drmies (talk) 23:44, 26 April 2019 (UTC)- I called this "disruptive editing" because it involved edit warring, use of unreliable sourcing, NPOV editing and using article space as a forum, and on top of that personal insults in this post. As for the question you asked me on my talk page, I think you should look at Wikipedia:Arbitration/Requests/Case/American_politics_2#Principles, specifically "Consensus", "Behavioral standards", "Neutrality and sources", and "Edit warring", because you fell foul of all of those. Drmies (talk) 23:50, 26 April 2019 (UTC)
- Hi. What in the post you referenced (and deleted) did you consider a "personal insult"? Thank you. KHarbaugh (talk) 21:26, 1 May 2019 (UTC)
- Correction: Having read the Wikipedia page on "Personal attacks", I can see where my comment ran afoul of its guidelines. No need to spend time answering my question, I will resubmit the original comment in a less contentious style. KHarbaugh (talk) 21:35, 1 May 2019 (UTC)

[edit]Ethnicelebs.com as a source
[edit]Hi KHarbaugh. I noticed that you recently used ethnicelebs.com as a source for biographical information in Adam Schiff . Please note that there is general consensus that ethnicelebs.com does not meet the reliable sourcing criteria for the inclusion of personal information in such articles. (See User_talk:XLinkBot/RevertList#EthniCelebs.com). Geni.com appears similarly unreliable. If you disagree, let's discuss it. Thanks. --Ronz (talk) 17:19, 21 November 2019 (UTC)
- I have no idea how reliable those pages are. But I do know that many on the web are asserting that Adam is a descendant of Jacob Schiff, the well-known NYC financier. It would clearly be good if Wikipedia could give an authoritative "Yes or No" to that issue. KHarbaugh (talk) 17:30, 21 November 2019 (UTC)
- Also, clicking on the link you provided, User_talk:XLinkBot/RevertList#EthniCelebs.com , takes me to the top of that page. At this time, there does not seem to be an entry for EthniCelebs.com on that page. Is your information out of date, or is that page out of date? KHarbaugh (talk) 17:56, 21 November 2019 (UTC)

Consider helping with an article?
[edit]Would you consider helping here? Talk:Investigation of UFO reports by the United States government Jjhake (talk) 16:42, 3 August 2023 (UTC)
- @Jjhake I'll do what I can. Not sure how much I can do. KHarbaugh (talk) 17:07, 3 August 2023 (UTC)
- Thanks for considering and anything that you might be able to add. It's a massive and messy topic and you seem to follow the news reports. Jjhake (talk) 17:12, 3 August 2023 (UTC)
- Hi there, I was wondering if you would kindly give your opinion regarding the following. much apprecialted.

- @Westerosi456H I appreciate and applaud your efforts. On the specific issue of BD (I can't remember how to spell his name), I do not desire to venture an opinion. I have no basis to offer a judgement.
- But, again, I applaud your efforts to uncover relevant information. KHarbaugh (talk) 00:46, 8 August 2023 (UTC)

Grusch article
[edit]Hi friend,
I was not able to edit this article for some reason, wondering if you're able to make this edit.
"Milley added that he was not that surprised that such ideas would circulate and be believed by some within an organization as large as the U.S. military."
I was not able to find this sentence anywhere in the 2 sources given in the article. Lonestar-physicist (talk) 03:48, 30 August 2023 (UTC)
- I was also wondering if you could please add the following in responce to intercept article leaking his medical records:
- "This riled up lawmakers like Burchett, who said in a response to the above tweet on August 8, "Trying to discredit a decorated veteran like David Grusch shows the desperation of the group trying to hide the truth. They will fail."
- https://www.foxnews.com/us/lawmakers-demand-truth-about-secret-ufo-programs-letter-inspector-general Lonestar-physicist (talk) 03:53, 30 August 2023 (UTC)
- @Lonestar-physicist I was able to find it in the web archive version of the Wash Times article. But I don't want to add it myself to the Wikipedia article - not sure how much it matters. KHarbaugh (talk) 04:23, 30 August 2023 (UTC)
- thank you. could you please remove the following from article? It wasn't in any article/
- "Milley added that he was not that surprised that such ideas would circulate and be believed by some within an organization as large as the U.S. military." Lonestar-physicist (talk) 13:39, 30 August 2023 (UTC)
- @Lonestar-physicist
- In https://web.archive.org/web/20230807023919/https://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2023/aug/6/joint-chiefs-chair-mark-milley-claims-alien-recove/
- the following appears:
- "[Gen. Milley] said “a lot of people have different perspectives” on various issues in an organization as large as the Defense Department."
- The reference at https://web.archive.org/web/20230808124653/https://americanmilitarynews.com/2023/08/gen-milley-denies-govt-covering-up-aliens-ufos/
- says:
- "Milley emphasized the variety of perspectives within an organization as vast as the Defense Department."
- In comparison, the current Wikipedia article says:
- "Milley added that he was not that surprised that such ideas would circulate and be believed by some within an organization as large as the U.S. military.[43][44]"
- I agree the statements are not exactly the same.
- I don't know who added the statement to Wikipedia.
- But I don't think I should be the one to change it, if it needs changing.
- I don't have full background on this.
- If you are really concerned about this, you should add a comment to the Talk page section on Milley. KHarbaugh (talk) 15:02, 30 August 2023 (UTC)
- Ah, now I see who made that addition.
- It was Jjhake here:
- He initiated this page, and has been "mother-henning" it. KHarbaugh (talk) 15:30, 30 August 2023 (UTC)
- That URL worked earlier, but not now.
- Anyhow, it was on 10 August. KHarbaugh (talk) 15:32, 30 August 2023 (UTC)
- thanks. Lonestar-physicist (talk) 16:06, 30 August 2023 (UTC)
- I see yes that's it Lonestar-physicist (talk) 16:06, 30 August 2023 (UTC)

talk page semi-protected
[edit]Hi there, I'm a new user and I wanted to post 2 very recent articles to David Grusch talk page to be discussed, but it was semi-protected. I was wondering if you can post it there instead:
1. https://www.nytimes.com/2024/01/12/us/politics/ufos-aliens-classified-briefing.html https://archive.is/CTvNC
2. https://www.theguardian.com/science/2024/jan/14/what-happens-if-we-have-been-visited-by-aliens-lied-to-ufos-uaps-grusch-congress John-w-Buchanan (talk) 21:18, 15 January 2024 (UTC)
- @John-w-Buchanan Unfortunately, I cannot edit the main Grusch page either.
- I don't have the required 500 previous edits. KHarbaugh (talk) 21:24, 15 January 2024 (UTC)
- could you post it in the talk page? that's what I meant. I didn't mean the main page. Maybe someone else can add it when they see it in talk page. thank you. John-w-Buchanan (talk) 21:30, 15 January 2024 (UTC)
- @John-w-Buchanan I agree both those articles would be quite reasonable to include in the main article.
- However I have been slapped down enough by the evident cabal that dominates both the main page and the talk page that I am treading carefully in what I post.
- I have been told multiple times by Handthat... that I am a "disruptive editor", for bringing up possible citations on the talk page that he considers unworthy.
- None of the other editors has voiced disagreement with him.
- So I'm going to draw back for a while.
- Let's see what other editors do.
- But thank you for your worthwhile suggestion! KHarbaugh (talk) 22:03, 15 January 2024 (UTC)
