I have seen the first episode of series 8 and that's how I know ==Recent edits to Matt Smith (actor)== Hello, and thank you for your recent contributions. I appreciate the effort you made for our project, but unfortunately I had to undo your edits. Please add a source for the cameo appearance. Feel free to contact me directly if you have any questions. Thank you! Cowlibob (talk) 10:56, 13 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not doubting that it's true. I'm aware that the episodes have been leaked and he is set to appear but in order to put the information you need a reliable independent source saying so. Or else anybody could put anything they wanted on any page. Cowlibob (talk) 14:20, 13 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Oh ok now I understand what would I put the source as first time I've put anything on a wiki.

Something from a reliable news source like the BBC for example which is hard to come by as obviously it was leaked and not officially announced. Maybe it's best just to wait until it's closer to the air date as the number of sources will no doubt increase. Anyway it doesn't really serve a purpose to add that now apart from spoiling people who haven't watched the leaked version. Cowlibob (talk) 15:28, 13 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Ok thank you i will leave it then. do you add the source to the refrences section for future knowlegde.

You add ref tags next to the statement you want to reference. When adding references make sure to include the url, title, publisher, date.
Here's a blank template: which works for most sources:[1]
An example: Peter Capaldi was announced as the 12th Doctor on 4 August, 2013.[2]
Click edit on your talk page and you'll see the template and the example of how to cite. Cowlibob (talk) 16:05, 13 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Got it now thank you.
