Alright cool, we should have started this discussion before. Reason why we have the dates (MM/DD/YYYY) on fight record is because its like this on hundred other fighters pages, boxers, kickboxers, mixed martial artists etc. You can bring it up at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Mixed martial arts or Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Martial arts but it seems like a lot of work to start changing everything.
All the K-1 event names listed are the official names from their website as far as i know. They started using Final 16, Final 8 and so on from this year. If you have all the correct AJKF event names, feel free to add.
My point is, its cool that you're huge Masato fan and working on an accuracy and a quality of the article. But bro try to be neutral, its not suppose to be an essay about the guy. I went thru the same thing with a Zambo fan awhile back. Oh, are you sure its Nick and Steve Mitch, not Mitchell?
I don't understand where do you get that i write Tokyo everywhere? As far as i know i haven't. About the Samron Stadium, i'll do a research and get back to you. You're right i don't think there is a stadium by that name. Omnoi, Raja, Lumipinee are the big 3 and all are in Bangkok, chances are it took place in one of those three but i have no sources to back myself up. What does his biography say?
Lets just work together and make it a quality article before Finals come up, his page gets about 500 hits a day. Do you have any pictures of him? Anyway welcome on board. So I'm gonna change his Kickboxing record back as it was with minor changes. Marty Rockatansky (talk) 05:31, 15 July 2008 (UTC)
- You're right Steve and Nick Mitch are correct. another difference i found is K-Takahashi. and i couldn't find any Samron stadium, i guess we'll just leave it now as Location:Thailand. Lets get all the differences straight before making any changes about the record layout, dates and events.Marty Rockatansky (talk) 06:18, 15 July 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for being really civil about it. Your points are acknowledged regarding the dates and event names--I won't tamper with those.
However, since it's very difficult for us to find out what city each of his fights took place in, I think it's ideal for consistency's sake that we just stick to adding the country to the end of the event name, rather than misleading people with unverified facts. It looked a bit weird when some had "Tokyo, Japan" and others just had "Japan", also some were links, others were not. I'd just like it to look professional and consistent, as I'm sure you would.
I will get ahold of a Masato photo for his profile ASAP.
Keep up the great work, Marty. I'll contact you in regards to future changes. As you said, his profile is a popular one, so let's make sure it does him justice.
