Thanks for your considered comment on the Octopus discussion page. I don't mean to sound combative . . . but I think if you reread the discussion you will find that I always tried to respond to the points made by other commenters; they did not return the favor.
I don't think the issue is compromise; I think the issue is to limit statements in the article to ones that are actually supported by authoritative citations. The claim that octopuses have a "very poor proprioceptive" sense is simply not supported anywhere I can find, including not in the most-often cited source for this claim -- that book OCTOPUS by M.J. Wells. Nor has anyone else come forward with such a citation.Daqu (talk) 02:23, 18 April 2009 (UTC)
