I am proud to be Filipino, so i may take jobs as a translator to the Tagalog Wikipedia. But, please don't bombard me since i'm still a 13 yr. old student..

anyway... I wish to thank those people who refined the Panunumpa sa Watawat ng Pilipinas, created by yours truly.

pplz, I edited the Cavite Page. Being Caviteno I feel that it is my due responsibility to scrutinize and correct the article, in order to show the world what Cavite really is.

Upload images

[edit]

Hi Justox, Great that you have some images you can upload! You can do two things: You can upload them on the English Wikipedia, or you can upload them on "Commons". The advantage of the first is that it is a little bit easier the first time, because you already have a user name here, the advantage of the second option is that users of all Wikipedia's (in each language) can use your image.

  • Using Option 1, Go to "upload file" on the left of your screen, browse to your photo, provide a decription of the image (including the fact that you created the photo yourself, assuming you did) and choose one of the available licences. The best (if you made the picture yourself) would be to choose "PD: (Self made): Donate to the public domain/release all rights" and then press the button "Upload File" and your finished
  • Using Option 2 Go to Commons and create a user login just as you did for the English Wikipedia (only necessary the first upload). The best would be to use the same nickname as you have here. After that the procedure is almost the same. Go to "Upload File", browse to your picture, write description. In the description you should add a category, so the people can find your image: for example [[Category:Philippines]], choose a license (For example "Own work, release all rights" and press upload. This image can now be used in Wikipedia the same way as can all other images.

I hope all is clear. Just let me know if you have more questions! Magalhães 07:54, 11 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

School Hymns

[edit]

School hymns, like the text of vision-mission statements, are primary, self-produced sources that are far from neutral. Encyclopedia articles, and Wikipedia articles in particular, are to be written from a neutral point of view. The lyrics of a school hymn, included in the context of what is supposed to be a neutral article on a school, skews the article toward a non-neutral POV. It will be better if certain verifiable facts ABOUT a school song be written. In that sense, there is actually something which can be discussed using a neutral exposition.Rmcsamson 15:48, 19 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for Image:Bacarra.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Bacarra.jpg. Wikipedia gets hundreds of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 02:05, 23 May 2006 (UTC)

Translating a word into English

[edit]

I found your name on Wikipedia:Translators available and was wondering if you can tell me what the word sakto means. I think it means something like exactly. I'm making a page listing varieties of Coca-Cola, and I heard about Coke Sakto. I found in a news article that it's just regular Coke in 200 mL glass bottle, small enough to cost 5 pesos (actually the article said it costs P5 which I suppose means 5 pesos). The article quoted a tagline Sakto sa sarap. Sakto sa 5 pesos. and translated it as Exact in taste. Exactly P5. What would Coke Sakto translate as? Exactly Coke?

Thanks. Philbert2.71828 21:03, 8 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Let's vote for Mariano Trias

[edit]

Hey there Justox! I would like to ask for your vote for the article of Mariano Trias in Wikipedia's Article Creation and Improvement Drive. It's nearing it's deadest deadline.

I believe that this article still needs a bit of clean-up and expansion. I hope you would vote for the article in this link as soon as possible.

Thanks a lot!!! ---- Kevin Ray 14:02, 17 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

If you are still interested in translating, you may sign up again by using one of the following userboxes on your userpage (while changing, of course, the codes according to the languages you speak):

Tamaraw article

[edit]

Hello. I read somewhere that you're from the Mindoro area? (I just don't remember where I actually read that info, at the moment) So, just going to ask - if you don't mind me asking - if you can possibly help out with something related to this discussion? Would it be possible to have an image of a live one? Thanks. - DaughterofSun (talk) 03:41, 15 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

File permission problem with File:Taal lake.JPG

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Taal lake.JPG. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Magog the Ogre (tc) 01:02, 10 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Notification of automated file description generation

[edit]

Your upload of File:Bacarra.jpg or contribution to its description is noted, and thanks (even if belatedly) for your contribution. In order to help make better use of the media, an attempt has been made by an automated process to identify and add certain information to the media's description page.

This notification is placed on your talk page because a bot has identified you either as the uploader of the file, or as a contributor to its metadata. It would be appreciated if you could carefully review the information the bot added. To opt out of these notifications, please follow the instructions here. Thanks! 2019 US Banknote Contest

[edit]
US Banknote Contest
November-December 2019

There are an estimated 30,000 different varieties of United States banknotes, yet only a fraction of these are represented on Wikimedia Commons in the form of 2D scans. Additionally, Colonial America, the Confederate States, the Republic of Texas, multiple states and territories, communities, and private companies have issued banknotes that are in the public domain today but are absent from Commons.

In the months of November and December, WikiProject Numismatics will be running a cross-wiki upload-a-thon, the 2019 US Banknote Contest. The goal of the contest is to increase the number of US banknote images available to content creators on all Wikimedia projects. Participants will claim points for uploading and importing 2D scans of US banknotes, and at the end of the contest all will receive awards. Whether you want to claim the Gold Wiki or you just want to have fun, all are invited to participate.

If you do not want to receive invitations to future US Banknote Contests, follow the instructions here
