Hello, welcome to wikipedia. Interesting experiment there at Wikipedia:Simplified Ruleset, nice to see you figured out how to fix things yourself too. Now that you know how to self-revert, don't be afraid to experiment around. Check out Wikipedia:Consensus for information about how we sort things out (though note that there's considerable variation in actual application).

If you like lots of twisty complex "rules", you'll find we have plenty. If you're more into actually getting some encyclopedia writing done, just do so. If you make a mistake, someone will correct you.

If you prefer reading some rules as a primer, just follow the simplified ruleset you already found, or try the five pillars as an even shorter summary. Either way, you'll be fine.

Thanks. I am working on building a semi-private wiki project which uses some of the same policies as Wikipedia (albeit a bit adjusted - our project, for example, has a "slightly biased point of view"). Anyway I mistakenly posted the edited version into Wikipedia! But figured out how to fix it... which was a good learning experience.
