Thank you! --SineBot (talk) 05:18, 7 January 2009 (UTC) == Hi, Sergeant. You asked about my Tarrytown history. I was born in Chicago and moved to Tarrytown about 1974 and lived there through 1985, when I finished up at Sleepy Hollow High School. I was home on breaks from college which I finished in '89. My parents split in '85, and my mother and sister left Tarrytown in '91. I've been back since but mainly just passing through. I've just recently found facebook pretty effective for tracking down old high school and elementary school friends. Thanks for your interest. It's a cool town. --Peter (talk) 05:22, 10 January 2009 (UTC)And thank you for all of your service to our country. Peter (talk) 05:24, 10 January 2009 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of C Company, 2nd Battalion, 87th Infantry Regiment
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on C Company, 2nd Battalion, 87th Infantry Regiment requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Randykitty (talk) 15:06, 15 January 2013 (UTC)
Company articles
[edit]I have deleted the 5 company articles you just created. In general, this is too small a unit to get a separate article, we tend to stick with battalions or above. The articles had little or no information that wasn't available in the 2nd Battalion, 87th Infantry Regiment article. They would need to be celarly separately notable to get a separate article, otherwise adding some info the main battalion article would be better. Fram (talk) 15:40, 15 January 2013 (UTC)
I was actually in the process of getting the information together. I figured they would be better off seperate, since in many cases, the Companies were detatched from the Battalion and acted under another unit's command or independantly.
