Original research
[edit]With regard to your edit summary question in the Raymond Tallis article, a personal synopsis of a book or work is considered original research, which is why it was removed. Per policy, to ensure that you are not submitting your own novel views with regard to a work, "you must be able to cite reliable, published sources that are directly related to the topic of the article, and directly support the material as presented". --Jezebel'sPonyobons mots 14:16, 26 August 2011 (UTC)
I can't be bothered with an edit war, so feel free to claim victory, but you are simply wrong. The "original research" page which you link to, which I am well aware of, literally does not feature a single use of the word "synopsis". It does forbid "any analysis or synthesis of published material that serves to advance a position not advanced by the sources", but this wasn't your stated reason for deletion, and furthermore the synthesis provided seems to me pretty faithful to the book in question. If you disagree, you should edit it and provide a better synthesis, not just delete it. Presumably you are not going to delete the synopsis offered on wikipedia of books such as Othello, Principia Mathematica, the Bible, the Koran and Origin of the Species. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Juichirotanizaki (talk • contribs) 16:21, 26 August 2011 (UTC)
