Close paraphrasing
[edit]Hello! I've looked at the article you wrote, Jim Benkert, and I noticed that the wording in one section is almost identical to the wording in the source. It's critically important that you don't add anything to an article that might be copyright text. Make sure to write articles yourself, only using the source to verify the facts. I encourage you to rewrite that section in your own words, but at the very least make sure you don't add any more text like this. Copyright issues are taken seriously on Wikipedia. With that said, thank you for your contributions overall! Every bit helps! Thebiguglyalien (talk) 21:18, 4 September 2024 (UTC)
- Thank you, I just fixed. My apologies. I will do better. Jumplike23 (talk) 22:57, 4 September 2024 (UTC)
Renmark High School
[edit]Hi Jumplike, this is to just let you know the subheadings you created on Renmark High School have seemed to, according to the Rater Tool, decreased the article from B-class down to C-class. Personally, I think it makes the article significantly more readable, and I even tried to do the same thing on Albert State School to get it up to Good article status, but ultimately made it worse for some reason and ended up just reverting it. Anyway, this was just to provide you the courtesy on why the article was downgraded to C-class and on a side note to personally thank you for even accepting the draft in the first place (so many editors just decline school articles even though they have good references, I have seen it so many times). 2024 is Underway (talk) 09:27, 7 September 2024 (UTC)
- @2024 is Underway Thank you! I don't worry so much about the automated rater tool. To the human eye, the subheadings significantly improve the accessibility and readability of the article. I would re-add the subheadings to Albert State School. I was happy to accept it. Let me know if you want me to look at some other drafts. Jumplike23 (talk) 20:47, 7 September 2024 (UTC)
- I will re-add the subheadings for Albert State School now and if you wanted to look at Draft:East Perth Primary School that would be great! It has significant coverage and has 3 refs from ABC news. I think it is significant and could be a very good article when the school opens in 2029. The only problem I have with it is that I have a feeling that East Perth Primary School is not it's real name, but I could be wrong. Thanks. 2024 is Underway (talk) 21:19, 7 September 2024 (UTC)
- Just letting you know that I managed to get Renmark High School back up to B-Class and that East Perth Primary School ended up getting published (when I told you about it, I didn't see that it was declined, sorry about that, but the issues ended up being resolved). Thanks Again. 2024 is Underway (talk) 08:32, 5 November 2024 (UTC)

Comment re AA page
[edit]You're likely new editing Wikipedia and haven't engaged. But the trouble is with the Alcoholics Anonymous page is there things you seem to be unaware of. For instance, you have completely eliminated the Cochrane review and apparently don’t understand the difference between a review and studies and how significance it finding. When you do a barrage of edits many of them containing errors you have done too much. Please slow down so we can catch up enough is enough at this point.
- Hi User:5ive9teen, I hope this message finds you well. I am not new to editing on Wikipedia. Your message here strikes me as unprofessional. I will not engage in the personal back and forth. To respond on the merits of your comment, I have not completely eliminated mention of the Cochrane review. There is an entire paragraph on the study and additional mention of it in the article as it stands. Your comment on the review vs. study is well-taken and I have changed the subheading. 2024 Conflict of interest inquiry with Boston College
[edit]Do you have any external relationship or connection with Boston College that can trigger a conflict of interest? GuardianH (talk) 01:25, 1 October 2024 (UTC)
- No I do not have a conflict of interest. I do not feel that my edits triggered boosterism. The article was in poor shape and I worked to improve it. In fact, I feel that I went through and removed undue language and boosterism that was in the athletic section. I merely tried to summarize the article in the lede.
