Hand-coding

[edit]

Hey all :).

I'm dropping you a note because you've been involved in dealing with feedback from the Article Feedback Tool. To get a better handle on the overall quality of comments now that the tool has become a more established part of the reader experience, we're undertaking a round of hand coding - basically, taking a sample of feedback and marking each piece as inappropriate, helpful, so on - and would like anyone interested in improving the tool to participate :).

You can code as many or as few pieces of feedback as you want: this page should explain how to use the system, and there is a demo here. Once you're comfortable with the task, just drop me an email at okeyes@wikimedia.org and I'll set you up with an account :).

If you'd like to chat with us about the research, or want live tutoring on the software, there will be an office hours session on Monday 17 December at 23:00 UTC in #wikimedia-office connect. Hope to see some of you there! Thanks, Okeyes (WMF) (talk) 23:19, 14 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Dab pages

[edit]

Hello, regarding your edits on L'Indépendant (disambiguation). Unlike the French Wikipedia, this WP has a strong set of guidelines on dab pages. So please examine them carefully before having another go at dab pages: WP:MOSDAB. In particular, a dab page should not be created if only one article by that name exists. The same rule applies on WP.FR by the way. Rgds, --Midas02 (talk) 07:06, 28 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Midas02: understood. Rgds, Jules78120 (talk) 12:57, 2 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi There

[edit]

Hello, I'm still a tad bit confused why you sent me a welcome message in the French Wikipedia, I've never used it and I can't speak the language - had to use Google to translate the whole page... Adaobi YELL!!done 17:33, 29 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @Adaobi: it's an automatic welcoming message, you received because your local account has been created on frwiki, probably because you went there :). Best, Jules78120 (talk) 18:13, 29 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Interesting, reading your message was my first visit to the French Wikipedia. Adaobi YELL!!done 00:33, 30 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Mea culpa

Bonjour.

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Akio Arakawa, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Nathaniel Rich. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
