Paramilitary Forces of Colombia

[edit]

Please see the article Paramilitary Forces of Colombia and try to improve it's quality. Thanks. October 12, 2005

Thanks for the information. I'm sorry about not replying to your message earlier. I'll see if I can improve its quality, though the subject is quite complex and would require a considerable degree of expansion and edition.Juancarlos2004 18:42, 26 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Socio-economic Structure of the FARC-EP

[edit]

Dear Friend, the latest article Socio-economic Structure of the FARC-EP and we need your help to improve the quality. Thanks 11:00, 24 September 2005 (UTC)

See above. I've already made some changes, something like a couple weeks back, but I'll try and see if any further ones can be made. Juancarlos2004 18:42, 26 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Dear friend,

The new article The New Military Era of the FARC-EP and also I request from you to change the article name in any suitable way, Thanks 5:00, 20 September 2005 (UTC)

The artciel : Military History of the FARC-EP - II is for the Feb.2005 onwards, due to the prev. article lenght.

There was an error made by me when try to edit the article Military Structure of the FARC-EP, could you please activate your last edit and also I found some spelling mistakes in articles, can you find a method to correct it. Thank you.

I understand your intention and personally I wouldn't mind. The problem is that in Wikipedia it is extremely uncommon and perhaps even improper to split articles into "part one" and "part two".
The common thing to do because of the length is to divide the article into shorter ones by their specific subjects: In this case, given the extreme length and the differences, there's one for "Military History of the FARC-EP" and one for "Military Structure of the FARC-EP".
In particular, since the actions from Feb 2005 onwards are already in the "Military History" piece, creating a "part two" article just for them doesn't really save up on length. It's more efficient, lengthwise, to divide the article along wider lines. That's why I'm restoring the content of the "Military Structure" article.
But if you want an article only for the 2005 attacks, then it should be named something like "FARC Military Strategy in 2005", don't you think? Rather than just "part two". In that case, the information should be removed from the "Military History" article and put into a completely new piece, leaving the "Military Structure" article as it is.
As to the spelling mistakes, the only non-manual way would be to use a spell checker like the ones in Word and similar programs (with caution).I'll see if I can try that...Juancarlos2004 15:26, 19 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Two FMLN Biographies

[edit]

Dear Friend, we applogize to trouble you again please help to improve the quliaty and add more details, of Ana Maria and Cayetano Carpio, but this time beyond Colombia into Latin America.

But the April 1983 incident happened in FMLN consider as the turning point of the revolution in Latin America the situation changed into favorable for U.S. side.

Thank you very much for your past help.

Hi. I will try to help with those FMLN two articles this starting week, probably tomorrow. I have not done it today since I've been a bit busy working on the other materials, which still need some editing and so on. The two FMLN articles are interesting and seem important enough to deserve being worked on in their own way, so in a sense I agree.Juancarlos2004 02:15, 19 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Colombians

[edit]

Hey Juan Carlos, I've been looking around Wikipedia for important Colombian personalities, specially dealing with politics, drgus, and the armed conflict (Escobar, Galan, Montoya, etc.) but I've seen that either their pages don't exist or the articles are incredibly small. I was wondering if we could somehow get a group of Colombians together to try and work on that. I just figured you'd be a good first person to ask. Later.

Hello. Thanks for the attention...I'd definitely support your idea, as there would need to be an organized effort in order to really do that effectively. The main issue would then be how to set about doing it, of course...Juancarlos2004 22:23, 15 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Tequendamia's opinion

[edit]

Are interested in speading you hatred for Colombia around? If you want to speak shit about Colombia or any country go and copy any American Encyclopedia or the CIA facts book those are very good propaganda sources. You want to talk about drugs but you never mention that the US is the largest consumer of illegal drugs in the world and it is almost legal there. If you want to mention one side of the story you have to mention the other side too for your article to be balanced. --tequendamia 03:02, 23 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Whoa, that came right out of left field...carajo, ni idea de dónde saca usted esas cosas, pero bueno...algún día reflexionará al respecto, ojalá. What hatred for Colombia? Just because my point of view is different from yours that doesn't mean I hate Colombia. I don't even read those sources you mention, for all that it may matter to you, nor do I understand why you are bringing up that point. But well, it's your problem, not mine. Juancarlos2004 03:27, 24 Jun 2005 (UTC)
Just because someone is attempting to keep an article neutral doesn't mean he is trying to spread hatred for Colombia. You, Tequendamia are the one who is spreading hatred and making us Colombians look bad by posing your own opinions of hatred against the United States in the name of Colombia. I think your allegations are preposterous and you should reconsider your opinion; you should look at yourself before accusing others. PRueda29 19:30, 21 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Colombian?

[edit]

I've noticed most of your contributions to the Wikipedia are to articles related to Colombia. So... are you Colombian? --Fibonacci 00:09, 18 Dec 2004 (UTC)

Hi, sorry for not answering earlier...yes, I happen to be from Colombia. Juancarlos2004 20:06, 19 Dec 2004 (UTC)
¡Bacano! ¿De qué parte de Colombia? I thought there were no Colombians in the English Wikipedia besides User:Bogota... I'm glad to see there is at least one. --Fibonacci 01:38, 22 Dec 2004 (UTC)
De Bogotá...soy "cachaco", como se suele decir. Anyways, I'm sure that there may be some other Colombians around...though most of them post either irregularily or mainly in the Spanish version of Wikipedia. Btw, it's also interesting to know that you're living in Bogotá, curiously. Juancarlos2004 20:18, 22 Dec 2004 (UTC)

Invitación

[edit]

--Fibonacci 19:43, 23 Feb 2005 (UTC)

Venezuela

[edit]

Hi Juan Carlos,

As I'm sure you've noticed, I've been editing a lot of the Venezeulan politics-related articles: Hugo Chavez, Barrio Adentro, Plan Zamora, Rodrigo Granda affair etc. What do you think the biggest missing, inaccurate, or deficient areas are?

Peace,

DanKeshet

Hi DanKeshet.

As far as I can sum up in a few words, they are mostly fine. In the case of the Plan Zamora article, perhaps some more info on the different pro- and con- stances could be added, especially regarding the post-2003/current situation (the international and national (Venezuelan) press has had some pieces about land reform lately, for example, and several alleged incidents). To an extent, that might also apply to the Barrio Adentro piece.

The Rodrigo Granda affair sums up most of the situation quite well, I believe, though I suppose that a few more specific dates could be added, in a chronological manner.

The Hugo Chávez article is a very controversival issue on its own, but the current cleanup seems to be headed in the right direction, in my humble opinion. Juancarlos2004 22:29, 14 Mar 2005 (UTC)

M-19

[edit]

Hey.... thanks for the M-19 corrections... I'm aware my English isn't too good.

Stop vandalising my lines

[edit]

--tequendamia 06:37, 3 Jun 2005 (UTC) I will give evidence of the obvious and evident the same day George Bush provides evidence that Abu Ghraib never happened.

So that means that you are apparently not prepared to discuss this rationally, but instead must resort to out of context comparisons. You are the one that wants to defend that line, you are the one that must provide the evidence of its existence and relevance, just as there's ample photographic and textual evidence of what happened in Abu Ghraib (but what the heck does Abu Ghraib have to do with the Pan-American Highway, I'll never know). Re: Bolivar's Death

[edit]

Bolivar did not die of sexual disease, that´s a lie, he died of tuberculosis, hereditated from his mother. He started to have that disease in a peruvian town called Pativilca where almost died, but he saved previous to the battle of Junin. He then wanted to stay in Lima because of the weahther of city shic it doesn´t rain, but the problems in the Greater Colombia forced him to return. His disease countinued in Bogota which complicated and much more with the conspiracy he had from his enemies. The problems, the disolution of the Greater Colombia and the assasanation of Marshall Sucre depressed him which acelerated his desease. One oh his intentions was to go to Europe to recover but he coulnd´t. He died in Santa Marta.

Bolivar got old prematuraly because of the tuberculosis. In that time there was no cure against it. The cure was found in 1880 with the Streptomicin.

Posada Carriles

[edit]

Hi again, a minor issue of nomenclature: As you know, we don't refer to people using the apellido matrimonial in Anglo-Saxon countries. In the article Luis Posada Carriles, he is referred to sometimes as "Posada" and sometimes as "Posada Carriles". Is "Carriles" his mother's family name or is it some kind of fancy compound last name? (we have them in English too but they are rare.) Thanks, -- Viajero | Talk 16:59, 23 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I would definitely think that "Carriles" is indeed his mother's family name.Juancarlos2004 18:49, 23 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Cleanup

[edit]

The article Pan-American Highway needs to be cleaned up, and it needs to be rewritten to comform to a NPOV. I know you're having troubles with neutrality because there's a user out there that is adding anti-American setiments to this article. Please continue to try and keep the article as neutral as possible. Thanks. PRueda29 19:26, 21 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Broken links in Patriotic Union article

[edit]

Hi there Juancarlos. I noticed you've done a lot of (excellent) work on the Patriotic Union (Colombia) article. There are a couple of dead external links in the article which you might find it easier to repair than I could as I don't speak any Spanish.

The broken links are number 7, and number 11.

Thanks. --Spondoolicks 12:00, 26 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the heads up and for the compliments. I'll try and see if I can fix the links.Juancarlos2004 18:35, 26 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]
