If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on GlobalSource Partners, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but you removed a speedy deletion tag from GlobalSource Partners Inc, a page you have created yourself. If you believe the page should not be deleted, you may contest the deletion by clicking on the button that says: Contest this speedy deletion which appears inside the speedy deletion notice. This will allow you to make your case on the talk page. Administrators will consider your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. Thank you. Hello, Jrklink, and welcome to Wikipedia! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of the pages you created may not conform to some of Wikipedia's content protocols, and may not be retained. In short, the topic of an article must be notable and have already been the subject of publication by reliable and independent sources.

Please review Your first article for an overview of the article creation process. The Article Wizard is available to help you create an article, where it will be reviewed and considered for publication. For information on how to request a new article that can be created by someone else, see Requested articles. If you are struck, come to the Teahouse, where experienced Wikipedians can help you through the processes.

New to Wikipedia? Please consider taking a look at the our introductory tutorial or reviewing the contributing to Wikipedia page to learn the basics about editing. Below are a few other good pages about article creation.

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you have any questions ask me on my talk page or you can just type {{help me}} on this page, followed by your question, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Again, welcome! AntiCompositeNumber (talk) 01:50, 17 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hello @AntiCompositeNumber: I am currently a college student doing research on emerging markets and I saw this was a reputable company not represented on Wikipedia. I wanted to create my first article on this and add something to the platform. I appreciate your suggestions and want to be able to fix them. I will reword the descriptions and find more sources to corroborate them. I just thought their website was a good place to start and understand the company. But I can make the necessary edits to keep the page up.One thing I am confused is that you pinged the website for being promotional. I saw other company pages that list a website in their company infobox. Why is that different here? I want to make these edits. So is it possible that you can leave the page in tact so I can do this? Hello Jrklink; the biggest problem with that page is that it was almost entirely copied from https://www.globalsourcepartners.com/pages/about_us. The Wikipedia copyright policy requires that all text on Wikipedia be licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 3.0 license so that anyone can use it, for any reason. Most text you find on the Internet is not suitably licensed, and that includes what GlobalSource Partners has written on their website. To comply with US copyright law, it must be removed. Wikipedia articles must also be written in a dispassionate, encyclopedic tone and from a neutral point of view. As it stands, the article does not do that: phrases like bringing unique experience and local perspective to address emerging markets issues worldwide belong in a press release, not a Wikipedia article.
The best advice for writing a Wikipedia article is to summarize what reliable, independent sources have said about the topic. Just like an academic paper, you need to cite your sources and re-write what others have said in your own words. The citation requirement is what makes Wikipedia reliable, and you can read about it at Wikipedia:Verifiability. You can also find more information about article creation at Help:Your first article. I would also strongly recommend that you write your article at Draft:GlobalSource Partners and then submit it for review when you feel it is ready. By using the draft process, your article will be much less likely to be deleted while you are working on it. However, the rules about copyright and promotional language still apply. Happy editing! --AntiCompositeNumber (talk) 02:30, 17 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
