A tag has been placed on QualityMetric Incorporated requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a company or corporation, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for companies and corporations.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. noq (talk) 18:43, 8 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Response:

I am questioning the speedy deletion notice assuming that notability is the issue. I respectfully disagree with this judgement on three fronts:

QualityMetric's founder, John E. Ware, Jr, PhD is an internationally known expert in the field of health outcomes measurement. A quick check of Google Scholar will confirm this. He has published over 190 peer-reviewed articles on this topic and has won many awards in his field.

The SF-36v2 Health Survey, a QualityMetric product, is one of the more widely used tools for measuring patient-reported outcomes in the world. It has been translated into 117 languages for international use.

The topic of health outcomes measurement is very much in the news of late. The concept of comparative effectiveness in healthcare has received $1.1 billion in funding as part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.

As reviewing administrator I did not delete the article, for the company is clearly important. However, there are some other major problems, that must be fixed promptly

You need to show notability not by inference from the statement of what you do, but with references providing substantial coverage from 3rd party independent published reliable sources, print or online, but not blogs or press releases, or material derived from press releases You also need to write like an encyclopedia article, not a press release--don't praise yourself, say what you do. And, do not copy from a web site as some or all of this seems to -- first it's a copyright violation, but, even if you give us permission according to WP:DCM, the tone with not be encyclopedic and the material will not be suitable. For further information see our FAQ about business, organisations, and articles like this, and our guide to writing Wikipedia articles . I advise you to improve this article very quickly, before the article gets deleted by a regular deletion process. DGG (talk) 17:52, 9 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
