Speedy deletion nomination of Northwest Paranormal Research Team (NPRT)
[edit]A tag has been placed on Northwest Paranormal Research Team (NPRT) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about about a person, organization (band, club, company, etc.) or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. - I had placed the speedy delete tag because the notability criteria had not been met (unlike TAPS). The admin who deleted the page would have also done a similar check prior to deleting. -SpacemanSpiff (talk) 17:16, 23 May 2009 (UTC)
Deleted page
[edit]{{adminhelp}}
My page was deleted cos i placed a notice on for it to be deleted by accident. the page was for paranormal topics and to ref to different locations. How come TAPS has not been deleted in that case?
- Please review our guidelines for the notability of organisations. Unlike TAPS, your proposed addition has not a single assertion as to why the organisation "Northwest Paranormal Research Team" should be considered important or significant (e.g. by being covered in reliable sources). NPRT
[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, please do not add promotional material to articles or other Wikipedia pages, as you did to St Helen's House. Advertising and using Wikipedia as a "soapbox" is strongly discouraged. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you. --Jza84 | Talk 11:27, 28 May 2009 (UTC)
- Jp2uk, you're probably feeling a bit got at right now as you've had your article deleted and information removed from articles such as St Helens, Merseyside. The reason is that information that is not backed up by reliable sources will in all likelyhood be removed. Something as controversial as the paranormal will receive more attention on wikipedia and is more likely to be removed. Also, I'm afraid that too much weight was given to NPRT in the St Helens article. It's an article about the town, and including something such as a list of members was not appropriate and gave too much weight to the subject. I'm sure you're acting in good faith, but wikipedia is not a route to raise awareness about the group. If that's what you want, perhaps you should try mywikibiz.com. It might be appropriate to have a sentence or two in the article, perhaps in the leisure section, but reliable third party sources will need to be provided. A good place to start is has the group received national news coverage, or its activities been reported in local newspapers? Nev1 (talk) 12:42, 28 May 2009 (UTC)
File permission problem with File:Nprt2009.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Nprt2009.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.
If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
- make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
- Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here.
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.
If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. MBisanz talk 22:36, 10 July 2009 (UTC)

[edit]User:Jp2uk, a page which you created or substantially contributed to, has been nominated for deletion. Your opinions on the matter are welcome; you may participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/User:Jp2uk and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of User:Jp2uk during the discussion but should not remove the miscellany for deletion template from the top of the page; such a removal will not end the deletion discussion.
