- Do a search on Google or your preferred search engine for the subject of the Wikipedia article that you want to create a citation for.
- Find a website that supports the claim you are trying to find a citation for.
- In a new tab/window, go to the citation generator, click on the 'An arbitrary website' bubble, and fill out as many fields as you can about the website you just found.
- Click the 'Get reference wiki text' button.
- Highlight, and then copy (Ctrl+C or Apple+C), the resulting text (it will be something like
<ref> {{cite web | .... }}</ref>
, copy the whole thing). - In the Wikipedia article, after the claim you found a citation for, paste (Ctrl+V or Apple+V) the text you copied.
- If the article does not have a References or Notes section (or the like), add this to the bottom of the page, but above the External Links section and the categories:
==References== {{Reflist}}

Removing citations in Munnar article
[edit]I have noticed that you have been removing Tamil versions of the name 'Munnar' and relevant citations. This is unethical and is against Wikipedia's policy of neutrality. Tamils form a sizable demographic group in Munnar and as a result, a Tamil version of the name must be included. If you disagree, then please start a discussion page on this - please do not commit vandalism by removing citations. Jash121 (talk) 23:47, 17 December 2011 (UTC)
Joyal, when a particular linguistic group forms the majority in a particular place, that language has the right to be represented whether or not it is official. To say that a language is not important because it is not official is imperialism. Wikipedia is a neutral encyclopedia and facts have to be represented as they are. As for Coimbatore and Ooty: - even though Malayalees live there, they are nowhere close to forming a majority. Perhaps, there are exceptions. But, I need firm evidence before I can agree to such a claim. Jash121 (talk) 01:32, 22 December 2011 (UTC)

Please do not remove content or templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to Munnar, without giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your content removal does not appear constructive and has been reverted. Please make use of the sandbox if you'd like to experiment with test edits. Thank you. Sitush (talk) 06:17, 4 April 2012 (UTC)
