This is the talk page
[edit]Somehow - my welcome to you is on your user page - ooops. It should have been here on the talk page. oops! SatuSuro 05:44, 14 June 2007 (UTC)
Hey, no worries. I have no idea how this section works yet anyway :-) Journo70 06:02, 14 June 2007 (UTC)
The stuff thats on your user page should be this side. If you can do anything to help with tassie regional newspapers it would be great - I have a mere scratching on the west coast ones and am very weak on the east coast ones. cheers SatuSuro 06:04, 14 June 2007 (UTC)
Sure, happy to help with that. --Journo70 07:07, 14 June 2007 (UTC)
FitzGerald's Department Stores
[edit]Thanks for your message, and for making the additions to the article.
FitzGerald's was a great store, and the company (and its many employees) made a major contribution to Tasmania, which I thought should be acknowledged.
I am interested in your comment about the New Norfolk store- the store manager told me that the (2 storey) building used to be a pub.
I believe Eastlands closed in 2001, after Harris Scarfe went into receivership.
It would be good to see this article expanded, as there are some good stories to tell.
I hope you can help with this!
Thanks and regards

Great to hear from you and I hope I'm responding to you correctly! Despite all the years that have passed I'm still a Wikipedia noob and tend to dive in and out at random, update one or two pages (usually the Merc) and forget about it for a while. I hope I created the table of editors for the Tasmanian Mail correctly. I copied and pasted the table of Mercury editors and used that as the template. The new paper is a great thing for the coast! It's a monthly at this stage. I'm in the second year of my own newspaper - New Norfolk and Derwent Valley News - which I added to the Tasmanian newspapers page last night too ;-) Journo70 (talk) 01:01, 30 January 2022 (UTC)
I should be passing through your way later this year (in the 70s it was usually very late at night on the way back to queenie), I will make a point of seeking you out... if thats ok with you - feel free to keep in contact on or off wiki... 04:57, 30 January 2022 (UTC)
