Apostrophes
Please stop adding apostrophes into DEFAULTSORTs; many people have worked long and hard to get articles to sort correctly, and you're undoing that work. It's not an accident that the apostrophes are not there. Studerby (talk) 16:55, 19 April 2012 (UTC)
- By the way, I also noticed that you were "fixing" the capitalization of names in DEFAULTSORT. Until sometime last year, sort was case sensitive and Wikipedia convention for names was to always capitalize the first letter and lowercase all other letters; this convention effectively caused sorting to be case INsensitive, which is the standard sorting for English-language reference works. However, last year (after 5 years of complaint), they made sorting case-insensitive, so it doesn't matter how the name is capitalized. In other words, your capitalization changes of DEFAULTSORT keys have no effect, but don't hurt either. Also, some editors argue that Scottish names that begin with "Mc" should have a DEFAULTSORT key that begins with "Mac" - to force all the "Mc"s and "Mac"s to sort together. That's a pie fight I stay out of. Studerby (talk) 17:26, 19 April 2012 (UTC)
Ok, sorry I didn't realise. On the DEFAULTSORT thing, I read some guidelines which said it should be entered in as it is spelt. So for McManus or McDonnell for example it said they were supposed to stay like that, not with the Mac added in. Josh the newcastle fan (talk) 20:32, 19 April 2012 (UTC)
- huh... I looked at the guideline for mc/mac and they flipped it sometime in the last year, which I've long argueed was correct for modern references (the style changed about 20 years ago) so "as spelt" is now right; the apostrophe and other non-letter rule is still the same. BTW it's WP:MCSTJR. There are several exceptions to "entered as spelt", but 99% of them don't apply to modern western-style personal names, the only common one is apostrophes. Disambiguation link notification for June 28
Hi. When you recently edited Bronson Harrison, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Four Nations (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Richard Fa'aoso Data
Hi Josh,
This data is a what-if, highly suspect if not redundant move, the facts are cloudy at best and do not fit the Wiki req. It looks as if it was a shonky Player Managers (I thought the NRL had fix this crap) way of getting Richard Fa'aoso a better deal, by sprooking the Storm BS. He can not play for both teams in 2012 as listed in the July 10 news references. Because he may have gone down to the Storm to pickup some papers does not make the story true, as it turns out he was not going to the Storm with these two stories in play... Best Regards Vufors (talk) 04:34, 11 July 2012 (UTC)
Do you have an actual source on this? There are countless articles all over the internet & on very credible websites such as NRL.com stating that he had signed for the rest of the season with Melbourne & then signed a 2-year deal with Manly from 2013. The Melbourne Storm's website has an article on the signing & has his picture in their player profiles. Source: http://www.melbournestorm.com.au/news-display/Storm-adds-depth-to-NRL-squad/58113
While the Manly website has announced his signature for seasons 2013 and 2014. Source: http://www.seaeagles.com.au/news-display/Faaoso-signs-with-Sea-Eagles/58971
I'm sorry, but unless you can provide me with a source to your accusations, the page will remain as how i edited it. Josh the newcastle fan (talk) 07:59, 11 July 2012 (UTC)
- Hi Josh, then you need to explain two problems? 1. How does this player play with both teams in 2012 as your post now states & 2. Do you know if he had a real contract with the Storm as claimed in the news. I will wait a while, other wise I will send this to "More Eyes" and have a seconds look at. Best Regards To You Vufors (talk) 14:38, 11 July 2012 (UTC)
- OK just went back to the page and I see that you have corrected YOUR ORIGINAL ERROR :)... Thanks for that. Vufors (talk) 14:44, 11 July 2012 (UTC)
Yeah i noticed it said he was moving to Manly in 2012, which is wrong. I must have written that by mistake. Sorry about that. Josh the newcastle fan (talk) 15:40, 11 July 2012 (UTC)
