Welcome!
[edit]Hello, Josephinekim39, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.
I noticed that one of the first articles you edited was Glenn Magpantay, which appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.
To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or another editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.
One rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)
In addition, if you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for any contribution you make, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation to comply with our terms of use and our policy on paid editing.

- Hi there,
- I was wondering how I might be able to save my edits and send them over you to you to take a look?
- Best,

- Hi Jay8g,
- Kindly following up on my previous message about adding these edits to the Glenn Magpantay page. Thanks!
- Best,
- Josephine Josephinekim39 (talk) 23:53, 31 October 2024 (UTC)
- @Jay8g, not sure if you have dealt with this yet.
- @Josephinekim39, looking at Glenn Magpantay's history page I see that Jay8g reversed your change with the edit summary "revert COI/promo". I suggest you read up on Wikipedia:Conflict of interest and Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not. Wikipedia doesn't really have a facility for you to save edits for others to take a look, but every article has a Talk page where you can discuss improvements. For example Talk:Glenn Magpantay. - Hi there,
- Thanks for your response. Could I post the edits listed below? Please take a look and let me know if you think they are okay to be published. Thanks for all your help!
- Under Career:
In February 2023, United States Senate (majority) appointed him to the United States Commission on Civil Rights. Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer announced his appointment as a Commission in the congressional record on February 13, 2023. At the Commission, Magpantay investigates the enforcement of civil rights and advises Congress and the President on civil rights policy Magpantay will be the first Commissioner of Filipino heritage since the Commission was created in 1957 and the first oenlt-gay Asian American Commission since theEisenhower Administration. His appointment was also supported by Congresswoman Grace Meng. Magpantay was instrumental in the Commission's statutory enforcement report on the Federal Response to Anti-Asian Racism in the United States (2023). The report covered anti-Asian hate crimes since the onset of the COVID19. His work was praised by Congresswoman Grace Meng.

- @Josephinekim39 as I said earlier please post your suggestions to Talk:Glenn Magpantay (go to that page and click "Start a new discussion"). Also I linked to Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not which says in the nutshell "Wikipedia is not a place to promote things". Taking a quick look your edit does look a bit promotional. The language "They continue as friends" and "Magpantay was instrumental" look out of place in Wikipedia. And yes, just about everything needs a citation to a reliable source for a biography of a living person. You didn't really address if you have read and understood the conflict of interest concept. Out of curiosity, do you or have you had any association with the subject in real life? You don't have to answer, but I always find it interesting to discover the motivation that drives new editors to edit certain subjects. Commander Keane (talk) 21:36, 1 November 2024 (UTC)
- Hi there, sorry about that! I'll post my suggested edits to the page you linked. I don't have an association with Glenn Magpantay, but I'm very interested in AAPI centered activists. Josephinekim39 (talk) 00:33, 7 November 2024 (UTC)
