A tag has been placed on Draft:Motivational Maps, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Request reason:

I would like to appeal the decision to indefinitely block me. I have been blocked for "advertising and promotion" when I was trying to update Wikipedia's motivation page with a new model of motivation, one that has been backed by scientific research and published by one of the largest publishers in the world for academic and business books. Surely the purpose of editing Wikipedia is for its pages to remain as current as possible? I was offered no chance to explain myself when the Motivational Maps draft-page was deleted (indeed my appeal was deleted without response). I came to agree that that was "fair enough", and perhaps the page did warrant dismissal as promotional. However my update to the motivation page was purely focused on the new model of motivation, so I am unclear what I did wrong. If it fell short of standards, it would have been helpful to have been contacted and have someone explain what I needed to do to improve it. If it was purely one or two links that were external, then I could have easily removed and fixed those elements. I have received no feedback or discussion about my text; I merely wished to update the out-of-date motivation page with the new research which comes from Gower & Routledge. I am interested in motivation, adaptability, personality - my interests are evident and consistent in my creation of the adaptability quotient page. I think there are a lot of areas in Wikipedia relating to these topics where it could be improved; if you were to unblock me, then perhaps I could give tidying those up a go instead of adding "new" research? Ultimately, I think that it would improve the motivation page if someone - I realise it will not be me at this point - were to review the studies and books I linked and add the nine-motivator model at some stage. I just think it's a glaring error that the page is missing the nine motivators when it's been around for 14 years. I am sincerely sorry if my efforts have come across as promotional. I spend a lot of my work & free time promoting authors whom I believe to be underrated or under-acknowledged for their contributions, so perhaps that tone infected my contributions here. Thank you for your time reading and reviewing this.

Decline reason:

You've already acknowledged your conflict of interest here. Your content was blatantly in violation of WP:PROMO. Wikipedia isn't for promoting your business and you won't be unblocked to do so. Yamla (talk) 12:23, 11 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I'm sorry, but I cannot unblock you at this time. Please describe in greater detail how your editing was unconstructive and how you would edit constructively if unblocked.
