1880 Pennsylvania and 1884 Pennsylvania

[edit]

I have a genuine question. Why were the county maps for 1880 and 1884 changed when the files already there were updated to the current styles that are used for them? I was just wondering because the new files that are used have white backgrounds on them and the other files that are the exact same don't have that white background. Just wondering. Thanks! Someone on my commons page asked me to update the shapes for those files and I put the white background there to have it look right in dark mode. JosephBobilly (talk) 17:48, 9 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Alright. I don't know why someone wanted you to do that. That's weird. ZackCarns (talk) 18:49, 9 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Election maps

[edit]

Hello. I want to create election maps using county boundaries as provided by https://digital.newberry.org/ahcb/index.html. I have QGIS and know how to layer the files properly, but I cannot get the data that Newberry provides into QGIS. Do you know how to do this? That would really help me to be able to create maps using historical county boundaries. ZackCarns (talk) 15:22, 4 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

You need to use the plugin timemanager to get the county data from those maps in qgis https://plugins.qgis.org/plugins/timemanager/ JosephBobilly (talk) 22:10, 4 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Also please tell me if this helped you. JosephBobilly (talk) 16:16, 5 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
That and a Twitter walkthrough given to me by another user helped. Thanks! ZackCarns (talk) 16:29, 5 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

2012 & 2000 Tennessee presidential precincts

[edit]

Hey! I noticed that you make precinct maps for older elections! I was wondering if you could add two precinct maps for the 2012 & 2000 Tennessee presidential elections! GatewayPolitics (talk) 18:33, 14 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I might be able to do 2000 not sure about 2012 right now. JosephBobilly (talk) 16:48, 16 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Alright thank you! GatewayPolitics (talk) 17:39, 16 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Puerto Rican election maps

[edit]

Great work on the election maps. Just wondered why you removed the 1952 one (after adding it)? Cheers, Number 57 23:46, 5 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

It was supposed to be 1948 but I realized I gave it the wrong name and put in 1948 instead. JosephBobilly (talk) 23:49, 5 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
