Hi there!
You've probably noticed, I made some edits to Will Henry Stevens - trying to tidy things up; I hope you think they're OK. Mostly, I tried to make the referencing better. Check the history to see my edits.
I have suggested the article as a "Did you know..." entry. If accepted, it will appear on the main front page of Wikipedia.
However, there is a tiny problem;
For "Did you know..." it needs an interesting, eye-catching tag-line. The best I could come up with was,
- Did you know... that Will Henry Stevens, American modernist and naturalist painter, developed emulsions made from egg, oil and wax, to prevent his paint smudging?
...but there is a query; I deliberately mentioned 'egg' linked to tempera, but I cannot actually confirm if the source specifically states he used egg. Can you confirm if that is verifiable? If we cannot prove he used egg, then we can just adjust the tagline. But the 'egg' is quite eye-catching and good for the DYK entry.
You can see the "did you know" suggestion and discussion at Template_talk:Did_you_know#Will_Henry_Stevens - and please, feel free to respond right there.
Thanks very much, Chzz ► 01:33, 17 March 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks for responding! I'll wait again, and see what the reviewer thinks of that. I'm sure we can get it featured with some "Did you know..." fact - if the egg info is not acceptable, we'll just have to use something different. Thanks again, Chzz ► 11:36, 24 March 2011 (UTC)

DYK for Will Henry Stevens
[edit]On 3 April 2011, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Will Henry Stevens, which you created or substantially expanded. The fact was ... that artist Will Henry Stevens was inspired for his subject matter by writers Ralph Waldo Emerson, Henry David Thoreau, and Walt Whitman? You are welcome to check how many hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, quick check) and add it to DYKSTATS if it got over 5,000. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page. |
