How do we avoid doubles?

[edit]

Galtieri is both president and part of the junta, Thatcher is both prime minister and part of the War Cabinet... --Regards, Necessary Evil (talk) 13:02, 11 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

No idea, same happens with Task Groups/Ships captains. btw, I will like to add the ships captains too! --Jor70 (talk) 13:38, 11 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Doubles are perhaps inevitable, given that roles were duplicated, individuals took different roles at different times, individuals were relieved of command/killed etc. Eg 2 Para had three CO, Lt Col Jones, Maj Keeble and Lt Col Chaundler. If I can help please do ask. Regards, Justin talk 13:42, 11 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Justin can you check if the Task Force has an official designation, I remember read was 314 or something --Jor70 (talk) 14:08, 11 October 2010 (UTC)...[reply]
The official designation was Operation Corporate, are you referring to naval units? Justin talk 14:57, 11 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
No, I meant a number to the Task Force, TF 327 or something ? --Jor70 (talk) 17:19, 12 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The captains of the ships are already at Argentine naval forces in the Falklands War and British naval forces in the Falklands War. It will be difficult to find similar or opposing commanders. --Regards, Necessary Evil (talk) 15:39, 11 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Agrupación Litoral

[edit]

There is a map called "Argentine Units in the Falklands, 30 April 1982", page 58-59 in Middlebrooks "The Fight for the 'Malvinas'", 1989. Agrupación Litoral (Coastal Sector) is the Falkland Islands except for the Stanley Sector (Agrupación Puerto Argentino). According to the map Agrupación Litoral is commanded by Brig.-Gen. O.E. Parada and includes 'Calderón' Naval Air Station at Pebble Island, 5th Regt at Port Howard, 8th Regt & 9th Engineer Coy at Fox Bay and 'Condor' Military Air Base with 12th Regt at Goose Green. So the wikilinking to Mesopotamia, Argentina is misguiding. --Regards, Necessary Evil (talk) 15:20, 11 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The link is intentened to show the origin of the name, not the island deployment. It tooks the name from its main unit: the Brigada Motorizada 3, homebased at the litoral --Jor70 (talk) 15:41, 11 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I see, just like "Task Force Mercedes" at Goose Green, because the 12th regiment's home base was at Mercedes in Corrientes Province. --Regards, Necessary Evil (talk) 16:49, 11 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
