memes article
[edit]Thanks for adding the sentence about pepe as a hate symbol. I deleted it at first, but I agree it's necessary to add something like that in the article, so I've tried to add something about the issue. Here's some pages on how to add citations to sources: Help:Footnotes, Wikipedia:Citing sources. I need to get better at citing, so I'm not certain on all the points, but the articles should explain everything.--Yellow Diamond Δ Direct Line to the Diamonds 07:21, 9 November 2018 (UTC)

Nøgøødreåssen
[edit]In this edit, you linked Nøgøødreåssen in Asterix and the Great Crossing to For No Good Reason. The name can't possibly be a reference to the film, as the comic book predated it by 35 years. JIP | Talk 10:25, 11 November 2019 (UTC)
... my bad; thanks for picking that up!

Barrer - conversion to SI units
[edit]Evening all! Recently came across the Barrer and decided to convert it to SI units for fun. However, my maths doesn't seem to match what's on the wiki. Given nobody seems to have cited a source as far as I can see; here's the maths behind my (forthcoming) edit, limiting myself to 5 sig figs:
1 cmHg is equal to 13.332 pascals. However, the is a little more complicated.
The ideal gas law tells us that , where p is in pascals, V in metres cubed, n in moles, T in kelvin, and R=8.3145 joules per mole per kelvin. Substituting values for the standard cubic centimetre; we get
- , or
- .
Substituting these into the definition of the barrer, we get the following:
or, simply, .
... Given that's a factor of 100 off I might quickly check where the previous editor got it from!
