You are quite obviously the one who's never heard Dismember. There's nothing metalcore about them, and I feel certain that you're interpreting legions of -core bands having pilfered their riffs and melodicism for the past ten years as evidence to the contrary. I know that they're death metal. I hear that they're death metal. I feel that they're death metal. However, that line of reasoning doesn't seem to work for you - you clearly don't believe me on my own - so I've prepared the following arguments/evidence to prove my point.
Go listen to Entombed, or Carnage, or even Carbonized, all of whom either sound like or are direct precursors to Dismember and their early material - and all of whom are unabashedly death metal - and come back and tell me that they're metalcore bands. You won't because you can't. Beside that, however, is the glaring fact that the vast majority of people who have ever heard Dismember - fans of the band or not - will shake my hand and yours and agree with my assertion that they are, and always have been, a death metal band. Go google Swedish death metal, right now, and you'll find Dismember mentioned on every link, and even a link to their website on the second page of results, right after Amon Amarth. Too lazy? Still don't believe me? Here, I've done the work for you:

[edit]It appears that your sole activities on Wikipedia entail creating useless pages, and making unsourced changes to band genres in the manner of a troll. As you seem to have no desire to make constructive contributions, I have blocked you indefinitely. ~ mazca talk 23:06, 7 June 2011 (UTC)
