Poll

[edit]

Hi. Can you tell me why the latest data on the 'Graphical summary' chart on Welsh independence has Yes = 23% whereas in fact YouGov mentions that Yes = 33%? Secondly, your reference is to the thenational.scot newspaper rather than directly to the source. Lastly, can you mention as a note what criteria you use to select the polls (independence, devolution, mix?) - or is the data taken from the 'Yes/No Independence polls' list? Thanks. Llywelyn2000 (talk) 08:11, 5 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • Hi, I didn't add the poll sourced from the thenational.scot to the tables of polls, and I asked on the Talk page of the article if we should actually leave it or not (because it's not from a direct source and excludes don't knows unlike the rest of the polls). I don't believe I have received an update for that yet, so have left it up but I'm not sure if that is best practise. Similarly I haven't updated the graphical summary with that latest poll either, because I'm not sure if it should be left up without the direct source or not, and I'm guessing nobody else has either, so the latest poll on it is still the end of October one with Yes =23%. I hope that helps? Jonith1 (talk) 14:07, 5 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
    • @Llywelyn2000: Oh I did also change the figures for the 33% poll, because the original person who added it had No's at 57%, when it was supposed to be 67%. Perhaps that's why you thought I added that poll? I made that change because if the poll was going to be on the page it should have the correct figures, not as a judgement on if that poll should remain on the page given the issues.
