Uploading images
[edit]Hi Jones Berley,
Please familarize yourself with WP:UPIMAGE before you decide to upload another image to Wikimedia commons. For your info, only images that have been licensed freely can be uploaded to Commons. The Soundman Vol. 1 cover has not been licensed freely and can only be uploaded under a non-free fair use rationale. I nominated the cover you uploaded for deletion. Once it gets deleted, a different image can be uploaded; this time you will need to use the File Upload Wizard. Click on the link that says "Click here to start the Upload Wizard". Make sure the image you upload is 300 × 300 pixels or under. You can use Shrinkpictures.com to re-size the image you want to upload. After uploading and describing the image you've re-sized, you should select the second option under step 3. Under non-free use rationale, you will select the fourth option (This is the official cover art of a work). The remaining steps should be straight forward. After uploading the image, the file page should look similar to the file page below.
Description | This is the cover art for the collaborative EP ABC, by the group ABC. The cover art copyright is believed to belong to the record labels ABC Entertianment. |
---|---|
Author or copyright owner |
ABC Entertianment and graphic artist(s) |
Source (WP:NFCC#4) | https://www.abcef.org/abc-releases-new-EP.12345.html |
Use in article (WP:NFCC#7) | ABC (EP) |
Purpose of use in article (WP:NFCC#8) | Main infobox. The image is used for identification in the context of critical commentary of the work for which it serves as cover art. It makes a significant contribution to the user's understanding of the article, which could not practically be conveyed by words alone. The image is placed in the infobox at the top of the article discussing the work, to show the primary visual image associated with the work, and to help the user quickly identify the work and know they have found what they are looking for. Use for this purpose does not compete with the purposes of the original artwork, namely the artist's providing graphic design services to music concerns and in turn marketing music to the public. |
Not replaceable with free media because (WP:NFCC#1) |
As musical cover art, the image is not replaceable by free content; any other image that shows the packaging of the music would also be copyrighted, and any version that is not true to the original would be inadequate for identification or commentary. |
Minimal use (WP:NFCC#3) | to serve as the primary means of visual identification at the top of the article dedicated to the work in question. |
Respect for commercial opportunities (WP:NFCC#2) |
The copy is of sufficient resolution for commentary and identification but lower resolution than the original cover. Copies made from it will be of inferior quality, unsuitable as artwork on pirate versions or other uses that would compete with the commercial purpose of the original artwork. |
Other information | Use of the cover art in the article complies with Wikipedia non-free content policy and fair use under United States copyright law as described above. |
Fair useFair use of copyrighted material in the context of ABC (EP)//en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Jones_Barleytrue |
If you want to get the image page to look like the one here, you should copy the entire template below and make minor changes to the following fields: description, author or copyright owner, source and use in article. The remaining fields do not need changes.

Speedy deletion nomination of File:Lyta In An All White Shoot.jpg
[edit]A tag has been placed on File:Lyta In An All White Shoot.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a non-free file with a clearly invalid licensing tag; or it otherwise fails some part of the non-free content criteria. If you can find a valid tag that expresses why the file can be used under the fair use guidelines, please replace the current tag with that tag. If no such tag exists, please add the {{Non-free fair use}} tag, along with a brief explanation of why this constitutes fair use of the file. If the file has been deleted, you can re-upload it, but please ensure you place the correct tag on it.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Relationship to User:HCamrone Media and conflict of interest editing
[edit]Please can you explain your relationship to this other account, and the domain "hcamrone.wordpress.com". Your editing seems to have an unhealthy relationship to that editor and their site. Please ensure that you are fully complying with Wikipedia:Conflict of interest and most especially Wikipedia:Paid editing. — billinghurst sDrewth 05:52, 16 May 2020 (UTC)
- Further, as I look at your crosswiki edits, I think that we should simply say that you are this other person, and I expect to see a paid editing declaration on your user page before you edit again. — billinghurst sDrewth 05:56, 16 May 2020 (UTC)

[edit]Dear @billinghurst, I have no relationship with HCamrone Media, HCamrone's Blog and the domain above. IN My recently articles, I added' the links to the articles of HCamrone's Blog, solely because it was included in the search results tendered by Google. And again, I have no, zero connections with the wiki account, website name and the domain.

Problem with your custom signature
[edit]You have a custom signature set in your account preferences. A change to Wikipedia's software has made your current custom signature incompatible with the software.
The problem: Your preferences are set to interpret your custom signature as wikitext. However, your current custom signature does not contain any wikitext.
The solutions: You can reset your signature to the default, or you can fix your signature.
- Solution 1: Reset your signature to the default:
- Find the signature section in the first tab of Special:Preferences.
- Uncheck the box (☑︎→☐) that says "Treat the above as wiki markup."
- Remove anything in the Signature: text box. (It might already be empty.)
- Click the blue "Save" button at the bottom of the page. (The red "Restore all default settings" button will reset all of your preference settings, not just the signature.)
- Solution 2: Fix your custom signature:
- Find the signature section in the first tab of Special:Preferences.
- Uncheck the box (☑︎→☐) that says "Treat the above as wiki markup."
- Click the blue "Save" button at the bottom of the page.
More information about custom signatures is available at Wikipedia:Signatures#Customizing how everyone sees your signature. If you have followed these instructions and still want help, please leave a message at Wikipedia talk:Signatures. Thank you. 18:03, 7 September 2020 (UTC)
