Your editing of Bray has decimated the lede where MOS:INTRO states that "The lead section should briefly summarize the most important points covered in an article in such a way that it can stand on its own as a concise version of the article." All it now has is one sentence. Please reedit. Thanks ww2censor (talk) 11:16, 28 August 2016 (UTC)
- Thank you for the hints. I was adding detail and repositioning the information to be grouped better than it was before. I do see your point about the introduction and I will look at it again and bring it in line with the objectives of wikipedia. Jonathanmcguinness (talk) 12:34, 28 August 2016 (UTC)Jonathanmcguinness
- I'm happy to provide you with some guidance on any pages I happen to watch. Any questions, just ask on my talk page. Sorry but I removed the social networking links you added to Bray, Wicklow and Enniskerry. These are not official sites belonging to any official website of the topic, i.e., county council or local tourism office, per WP:ELNO. If you have done this for any others I would advise you remove them too. Good luck and happy editing. ww2censor (talk) 13:41, 28 August 2016 (UTC)
- You are working hard on Bray but please make sure that you add citations for information you add. I see a lot a prose but no citations. You can use one of the citation templates found on this page. WP:CIT. Cheers ww2censor (talk) 14:28, 28 August 2016 (UTC)
- Will do. Just read up on citations. thanks Jonathanmcguinness (talk) 14:30, 28 August 2016 (UTC)Jonathanmcguinness
- Could I ask you, do you have an example of how a really good small town has done their page and I could use that as a reference including citations etc? Thank you Jonathanmcguinness (talk) 14:33, 28 August 2016 (UTC)Jonathanmcguinness
- Um, Banagher is the only Irish article I see rated as GA-class, Athlone looks really quite decent but you could also look at Clonmel amd Letterkenny. You will see that most of these do not just list events, etc., effectively as bullet points but instead create readable prose paragraphs. BTW, if you are doing some work on an article there is no need to keep saving every few minutes. You can place and save the template {{in use}} at the top of the articles and then work on it until you are done for that session without needing to save until you are finished, then remove the template unless you are coming back within a few hours. Cheers ww2censor (talk) 18:01, 28 August 2016 (UTC)
- Brilliant, thanks for the support! Jonathanmcguinness (talk) 18:46, 28 August 2016 (UTC)Jonathanmcguinness
