For twice going out of your way to take photographs to improve Buildings of Jesus College, Oxford (about a rival college, indeed!) a barnstar is humbly offered with my thanks. BencherliteTalk 16:13, 13 July 2009 (UTC) |

The article Tronji has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Appears to fail WP:GNG
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. DonaldD23 talk to me 21:19, 30 December 2023 (UTC)
Mystical union disambiguation
[edit]I put a link to 'mystical union' because I liked the sound of it, and also because the character Gareth mentions this in Four Weddings and a Funeral so I wondered what this is. The link was, rather unsatisfactorily, to a disambiguation page. Thank you for being so fast to clean up the mess that I made! Boleslaw (talk) 13:29, 20 October 2024 (UTC)

- No problem. I did a bit of looking for a better link but haven't really come up with anything yet. Jonathan A Jones (talk) 13:36, 20 October 2024 (UTC)
Invitation to participate in a research
[edit]Hello,
The Wikimedia Foundation is conducting a survey of Wikipedians to better understand what draws administrators to contribute to Wikipedia, and what affects administrator retention. We will use this research to improve experiences for Wikipedians, and address common problems and needs. We have identified you as a good candidate for this research, and would greatly appreciate your participation in this anonymous survey.
You do not have to be an Administrator to participate.
The survey should take around 10-15 minutes to complete. You may read more about the study on its Meta page and view its privacy statement .
Please find our contact on the project Meta page if you have any questions or concerns.
Kind Regards,
BGerdemann (WMF) (talk) 19:29, 23 October 2024 (UTC)

ArbCom 2024 Elections voter message
[edit]Hello! Voting in the 2024 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 2 December 2024. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.
The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
If you wish to participate in the 2024 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}}

St Catherine's College, Oxford
[edit]I don't think our paths have crossed previously, although we are near Wiki contemporaries, but I was delighted to make your acquaintance on the Blue plaque Talkpage. I could not help noticing that you are Oxford-based and that you occasionally take photographs for Commons. Sometime back, I worked up this list, Grade I listed buildings in England completed in the 20th century. This has three irritating gaps in the Images column, including one where there should be a photograph of the gymnasium/squash courts at St Catherine's College. I have asked for help at the Wikipedia:WikiProject University of Oxford, but so far without success. If it were at all possible, without causing you any inconvenience, to wend your way to Catz and snap a shot of the gymnasium, I would be much in your debt. I shall, of course, completely understand if you utterly indifferent to the missing gap in my list and have many more interesting ways to spend your free time! With best regards. KJP1 (talk) 22:13, 22 November 2024 (UTC)
- As you can see at User:Jonathan A Jones/Gallery I have done that twice in the past and in principle am happy to do this again. Unlike the other two locations Catz is not on my direct route to anywhere, but it wouldn't be a huge trip, so when I have a spare hour during good weather I can try to wander past. Just to check, this in the gymnasium in south east corner of the main site? Jonathan A Jones (talk) 08:42, 23 November 2024 (UTC)
- That would be exceptionally kind. The best directions I can find are this, [1] and this, [2]. It appears to be a free-standing rectangular block on the very edge of the main campus, on the extreme right when entering through the Manor Road gate. It is sometimes titled "gymnasium" and sometimes the "squash courts". It is rather odd that I can't already find an image, even an unusable one. Commons doesn't have it, and neither does Geograph, and I can't even find an image through a wider internet search. Thanks again and best regards. KJP1 (talk) 09:08, 23 November 2024 (UTC)
- There's a good map at [3] which confirms the building I thought it was, and even has a picture which may be the building. The arrow on your first link is pointing to the music room, not the gym. May take a while but poke me again if you haven't heard anything by the end of the year. Jonathan A Jones (talk) 09:21, 23 November 2024 (UTC)
- You're quite right, there must be something awry with the coordinates I used. And absolutely no hurry, of course. Best wishes. KJP1 (talk) 10:01, 23 November 2024 (UTC)
