Hi Many thanks for contacting me. My name is John Perry. I live in West London England, The background story is I have been researching George Rae for over a year. (I first came across him in 1975 when I joined the HSBC Group and was given a copy of Rae's 1885 book on Baking). My updates to Wikipedia cover only the information in the public domain. I also have significant additional material obtained from the HSBC (Banking) Group Archives in London and from contact with descendants of George Rae. I have met one of them and have been provided with their own history of George Rae. I have been in contact with Art Galleries, Historical societies etc. I recognise though that information can not be added to Wikipedia unless it's available in the public domain from a verifiable original source. I am in the final process of adding the Wikipedia links and links to external websites (in particular for links to artwork and the Rossetti archives that provided details of when George Rae acquired the paintings). During the past year I have acquired many books that reference George Rae's career and art collection connections. In due course I will be writing a biography of George Rae to be published. You will see I am having great difficulty with a consistent error message {{cite web}}: Check date values in: |date= (help) Can you help to fix this issue? Best regards John Perry Johncperry (talk) 11:35, 3 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The date field in citation templates needs to have just the date, no other information -- it looks like you've been sticking other details in there, which is causing the templates to throw an error. Check the template documentation for more information on other parameters you can use for that other information. :Jay8g [VTE] 23:24, 4 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Many thanks for the information and your help. Yes I can see my errors . I have corrected them all. Thanks again. Onwards to more research... regards John Johncperry (talk) 15:37, 5 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
