Do not mark major edits as minor, Wikipedia is not a source for Wikipedia
[edit]Thank you for your contributions. Please mark your edits as "minor" only if they are minor edits. In accordance with Help:Minor edit, a minor edit is one that the editor believes requires no review and could never be the subject of a dispute. Minor edits consist of things such as typographical corrections, formatting changes or rearrangement of text without modification of content. Additionally, the reversion of clear-cut vandalism and test edits may be labeled "minor". Thank you. —J. M. (talk) 02:44, 29 February 2020 (UTC)
Thanks for contributing to Wikipedia. However, do not use unreliable sources such as blogs, your own website, websites and publications with a poor reputation for checking the facts or with no editorial oversight, expressing views that are widely acknowledged as extremist, that are promotional in nature, or that rely heavily on rumors and personal opinions, as one of Wikipedia's core policies is that contributions must be verifiable through reliable sources, preferably using inline citations. In particular, do not use Wikipedia as a reference (see WP:CIRCULAR). Thanks.—J. M. (talk) 02:44, 29 February 2020 (UTC)
Hi JM. Thanks for the explanation. I don't often write for Wikipedia, more of a consumer than a contributor, and find the rules that have developed over time sometimes difficult to understand. They also seem to be applied to some articles but not to others. Best wishes, John JohnOyston (talk) 14:11, 29 February 2020 (UTC)
