Problem with an article you started

[edit]

Sorry to be the bearer of some not so great news but, if you go and take a look at the article that you started, Joel W. Martin, you will see that it is now tagged as having "multiple issues", including apparent conflict of interest, a lack of references, as well as questionable notability. Conflict of interest seems to apply because it looks (by your user name) as though you wrote the article about yourself, which is considered to be unacceptable on Wikipedia. As for the notability issue, Joel M. Martin would be considered notable if, and only if, there are independently published sources that have written about him, and if those sources do exist, then they are what someone would need to use as References to back up an article about this person. If no-one can fairly rapidly provide some sources, i.e. some references like that, then the article will undoubtedly end up being deleted. Please don't let all this discourage you from contributing to Wikipedia though, and if I can help you in any way at all with this or with any other aspect of Wikipedia, please do drop me a line on my talk page. Best wishes, Invertzoo (talk) 22:31, 31 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Unreferenced BLPs

[edit]

Hello Joelwmartin! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot notifying you on behalf of the the unreferenced biographies team that 1 of the articles that you created is currently tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 331 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:
