GOCE drive news

Guild of Copy Editors January 2011 backlog elimination drive

Greetings from the Guild of Copy Editors January 2011 Backlog elimination drive! The drive is halfway over, so here are some mid-drive stats.

Participation
GOCE January 2011 backlog elimination drive progress graphs

So far, 43 people have signed up for this drive. Of these, 25 have participated. If you signed up for the drive but haven't participated yet, it's not too late! Try to copy edit at least a few articles. Remember, if you have rollover words from the last drive, you will lose them if you do not participate in this drive. If you haven't signed up for the drive yet, you can sign up now.

Progress report

We have eliminated two months from the backlog – January and February 2009. One of our goals is to eliminate as many months as possible from the 2009 backlog. Please help us reduce the size of this part of the backlog if you haven't already. Another goal is to reduce the entire backlog by 10%, or by 515 articles. Currently, we have eliminated 375 articles from the queue, so if each participant copy edits four more articles, we will reach that goal.

Thank you for participating in the January 2011 drive. We anticipate it will be another big success!

Message Title

Hi Joe,

Thanks for viewing my request for feedback made on January 18, 2011.

You wrote: “Hi! This is for Wikipedia Articles only in the Wikipedia article space, please provide a link to the article in the Article Space then we will look at it.”

I’m not sure I understand what an Article Space is. I submitted my first request here (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Requests_for_feedback) and received feedback so I’m afraid I do not understand why this is now unacceptable. Also, an article on the specific topic I am discussing does not exist on Wikipedia so if Article Space means currently published articles, I cannot provide you with this information.

Would you please provide me with a link to the space where I should submit my article?

Thank you very much. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Burnglobaldev (talkcontribs) 17:09, 26 January 2011 (UTC)

Hello! I need to see the article where it would be at a location like en.wikipedia.org/Article_here, if it is not there, you should visit WP:WIZ and submit it to WP:WPAFC/S. Then we will review it and publish it.  JoeGazz  ▲  17:20, 26 January 2011 (UTC)

Receiving Feedback on Wikipedia Article

Hi Joe,

Thank you for the link to the Wikipedia Article Wizard. Perhaps we are misunderstanding each other because I wanted to receive feedback on my article before I submit it for potential publication. Is this an option? If so, where should I submit the article? Please link me.

Thank you, Burnglobaldev (talk) 14:16, 31 January 2011 (UTC)Burnglobaldev

Hello! I am sorry, at this time, that is not an option. The AfC will review it and decide if they wish to publish it but technically it is published on wikipedia though...  JoeGazz  ▲  21:16, 31 January 2011 (UTC)
