Why have you deleted the link "www.baiganchoka.com" from the "Guyana" page for the second time? You first deleted it stating "no blog" links, yet I see another blog link there, so what gives? Aramsahai (talk) 01:27, 30 January 2008 (UTC)
- What gives is that your link is not appropriate, adds no real value and violates WP:EL in my judgment. I'm not sure what other blog you mention. WHich one and I will look. - JodyB talk 03:13, 30 January 2008 (UTC)
- Oh, could you show me where I deleted it the second time? I only see once. Perhaps someone else removed it too suggesting they had the same opinion. -JodyB talk 03:18, 30 January 2008 (UTC)
- My apologies then - perhaps it was someone else the first time. Propaganda Press is the name of the blog. Aramsahai (talk) 03:40, 30 January 2008 (UTC)
- I was expecting a response. What gives? Aramsahai (talk) 02:09, 9 February 2008 (UTC)

Question regarding image to upload
I am editing the page for Geraldine Brooks, the winner of the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction 2006. I wrote her publisher and asked for a photo to upload. Louise Braverman Associate Director, Viking Penguin Publicity sent me a photo to use and said that I need to include Photo Credit: Randi Baird. If I've followed the right path here, I'd like to upload it so it goes in the infobox like other bio pages. So three questions:
1. Have I done this the right way, as far as getting permission (it is the same photo that is on the writer's personal site contact page)?
2. How do I upload it to the page at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geraldine_Brooks?
3. How do I make sure the photo credit shows-up?
Thanks-
--Al Jacques (talk) 19:23, 13 February 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks for asking. The image must be released under one of the acceptable GFDL-type licenses for use. This means there will be no such credit as requested, at least, not visible on the photo. It also means that the image can be used by others including commercial interests. You might have a look at WP:COPYRIGHTS for more information. WP:COPYREQ may also be useful to you. Since she is the owner of the image, it will be necessary for her to contact the foundation from a verifible address to release the photo. An OTRS volunteer will then properly label the image. See WP:OTRS for more information. The address is info-en@wikimedia.org. I know its a bit complex but there are very serious legal matters that underlie the process. I'll be glad to help all I can. -JodyB talk 13:28, 14 February 2008 (UTC)

Adopt A User
Hello JodyB. I need an adoptee. I'm new on Wikipedia and am not too familiar with the technical jargon used in the guidelines on how one posts an article. I have an article on a famous british photographer. It has lots of pictures on it. All his. I searched his name on Wikipedia and didn't find anything. So please adopt me and help me post this article. I also have other articles on various subjects. Some are about Africa and the myths and legends you find there. Hoping to hear from you soon.--Rubyen 18:59, 14 February 2008 (UTC)
Disruptive edits by Saedirof, MarkPC and Redlance: socks of a banned user
Hello JodyB,
Saedirof (talk · contribs) has been making disruptive edits to a number of articles, specifically Sengunthar, Mudaliar and Devadasi (all 3 are related articles) by using multiple socks and open proxies. He was initially blocked by you, check [1]. MarkPC (talk · contribs) who was initially confirmed as a sock of Saedirof (talk · contribs) but later managed to fool the admins into giving him another life. But the account MarkPC (talk · contribs) has been created for the sole purpose of edit-warring on the article Devadasi, (check [2], [3], [4], [5], [6], [7], [8],[9], [10] while Saedirof (talk · contribs) edit-wars on the articles Sengunthar and Mudaliar at the same time. These are all socks of Mudaliar (talk · contribs) (username same as article name) or Venki123 (talk · contribs) who were banned by the arbitration committee for heavy trolling and edit-warring on the very same articles, namely Mudaliar, Sengunthar and Devadasi. Check [11]. Request you to look into this issue. Thanks,

Adoptee for images
Hi, JodyB I'd like you too be my adoptee. Since your knowledgable on the image policy, maybe you can help me with upload images. If I think of uploading an image, I can show you first and get an opinion on it and you can help me properly label/license it. Bobisbob (talk) 13:05, 21 February 2008 (UTC)
- I'll happily offer whatever advice I can although my schedule for the next couple of months is pretty hectic including some time out of the country. I probably shound't do the adoption thing right now but do feel free to ask questions. - JodyB talk 23:02, 22 February 2008 (UTC)
Okay, well I am uploading this here on here. It is a shot from a BBC documantary. I going to provide a fair use rational for why it should be on the orca article . I've done simliat hings before and so have others. Fine with you? Bobisbob (talk) 16:41, 23 February 2008 (UTC)
PS I uploaded this image before think it was in the PD but tha wasn't true, now I learned from my mistakes. Bobisbob (talk) 16:40, 23 February 2008 (UTC)
Regarding Youonlylivetwice a master puppeteer and sock of a banned user
Hi,
FYI: There is a check user going on at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Requests_for_checkuser/Case/Mudaliar who I suspect is a banned user now appearing on multiple IP addresses and as Youonlylivetwice and many others. Youonlylivetwice seems to be the master puppeteer.

Admin Coaching Re-confirmation
Hello, previously you expressed interest in participating in the Wikipedia:Admin coaching project. We are currently conducting a reconfirmation drive to give coaches the opportunity to update their information and capacity to participate in the project. Please visit Wikipedia:Admin coaching/Status to update your status. Also, please remember to update your capacity (5th table variable) in the form of a fraction (eg. 2/3 means you are currently coaching 2 students, and could accept 1 more student). Thank you. Sock block
Please point me to the evidence for this [12]. Thank you. Jehochman Talk 03:37, 29 February 2008 (UTC)
- This is quite confusing but I think I figured it out. As a clerk at RFCU, I acted on a report there by a checkuser here. I blocked the master for one week and the sock indef. I see that the CU has since changed their opinion, I will be glad to make a correction in t he log if needed. -JodyB talk 15:42, 29 February 2008 (UTC)
- Note: I have indefinitely blocked User:Youonlylivetwice, the party who filed that RFCU, as a sockpuppet of banned User:Mudaliar, per Wikipedia:Suspected sock puppets/Youonlylivetwice. See also Wikipedia:Requests for arbitration/Mudaliar-Venki123. I think we should investigate whether the other party banned in that case is still active. Jehochman Talk 16:00, 29 February 2008 (UTC)
- Yes, could you note in the relevant block logs that checkusers retracted the original findings of sock puppetry, if that is what happened? Jehochman Talk 16:55, 29 February 2008 (UTC)
