Page nos
[edit]Hi, Joan1087 and Ian (Wiki Ed); you might not have seen my message here in edit summary. When you are adding citations to a book, the page number is required. You can add that by using the |page= parameter in the cite book template. Also, you shouldn't remove maintenance tags (my request for a page number with {{pn}}) without addressing them. The text that was there before had a valid source, and if your changes leave it with an incomplete source, they will end up being reverted. Best regards, SandyGeorgia (Talk) 23:16, 14 November 2021 (UTC)
- Thanks for this message @SandyGeorgia (and this ping). Joan1087, please take follow this advice. If you need to add a page number to a book, you can click on the reference in edit mode (where it appears in the text, not in the reference link) and then click on the edit button that pops up. There should probably be a field called "Page(s) cited" that you can fill in. If it doesn't show up, scroll down to the bottom on the form and click on "Add more information" and use the search box to find it among the options. Hi @SandyGeorgia, thanks so much for this message and for following up! I will add a page number and keep that in mind for the future!
- Thank you, Joan ! I removed the request for a page number (which you can do when you supply one), renamed the ref to something friendlier and easier to remember, and adjusted the page range to the convention used on that page. [1] (PS, you can sign your entries on talk pages by adding four tildes ( ~~~~ ) after them. Thanks again, SandyGeorgia (Talk) 23:49, 15 November 2021 (UTC)
The Teamwork Barnstar | ||
To Bharatss-SB, Joan1087, and Joyjxu1,For your work at Alzheimer's disease as part of your course HTHSCI 3E03: Politics of Health Information with Denise Smith at McMaster University, I award you this barnstar for the excellence of your collaborative effort. It is exceedingly rare for students to fully engage the project well enough to make a difference, and awarding a student barnstar is a first for me! Not only did you all communicate and take on board information about Wikipedia policies and guidelines, but you also left the article much better than you found it, and were a pleasure to work with. I hope to see you ‘round the Wikipedia, and good luck with your finals! SandyGeorgia (Talk) 03:42, 13 December 2021 (UTC) |
PS, it is customary for Wikipedians to copy barnstars to display on their user page, so feel free to decorate your page with a copy of it ! SandyGeorgia (Talk) 03:42, 13 December 2021 (UTC)
