Annie Lacroix-Riz
[edit]Hi, JoSloane. I notice that a number of your recent contributions have all involved adding or linking the name of Annie Lacroix-Riz in citations in various articles. May I ask if you have a connection to Annie Lacroix-Riz, or what the point of this series of edits is? Are you Annie? Thanks for volunteering to improve Wikipedia. - Thanks for the question Mathglot, I am not this person (no risk), only I just spent the last six month or so working on improving the French Wikipedia version of the article. It was a lot of work, and I can now (humbly) say that I have a pretty good grasp of the subject. Cheers.--JoSloane (talk) 14:08, 30 October 2024 (UTC)
- Thanks, Jo. I do a lot of work on French topics at en-wiki, sometimes researching and writing content specifically for the English article, sometimes translating content from fr-wiki. If you are involved in translating from fr-wiki (or from any Wikipedia), this is encouraged but please be aware of the strict policy requiring attribution of content translated from other Wikipedias—details at WP:TFOLWP. Also, you do not need to manually translate citations from French Wikipedia, you can copy and paste the French citation template (lien web, ouvrage, etc.) exactly as it appears in French into English Wikipedia, and a translation Module will cite it properly, and then replace it later with an equivalent English citation. If you ever need help regarding translation issues or cross language citation issues of any sort, please feel free to ask me. Mathglot (talk) 21:45, 30 October 2024 (UTC)
MOS:VAR and MOS:CITEVAR
[edit]Please do not change styles or headings in existing articles (such as sfn and the headings near the bottom of the article like "Notes" or "References") without first initiating a discussion on the Talk page to see if others object. See MOS:VAR and MOS:CITEVAR. See also WP:CONSENSUS. -- Ssilvers (talk) 18:08, 30 October 2024 (UTC)
