Roygbiv
Hi Jim, thank you for your advice on below and I understand that. I will not mention any resource that I am connected to. However, can I use the official Irish department of education site which I have no connection to as evidence? This is being adopted in schools in Ireland. Thank you. https://www.scoilnet.ie/browse-search/?q=colours%20of%20the%20rainbow

- Please help me with...ROYGBIV
- Hi, I am not totally sure how to do thuis - but I am trying add information to the ROYGBIV page about a new system to remember the colours of the rainbow that has been adopted by schools in Ireland. I was asked to provide a reliable source. The source would be that the Irish Department of education listed it as a resource: https://www.scoilnet.ie/search/resource/entity/show/Lre/33553/ It has also being listed on school resource websites http://www.schooldays.ie/education-news-item/In-the-Company-of-Huskies-reinvent-how-kids-Remember-the-Rainbow-to-support-diversity And RTE featured it on theor school hub programme and online resource material.
- Does this verify it ok? Thank You. Damianmhanley (talk) 08:10, 24 March 2021 (UTC)
No. These seem to be primary sources with which you have a connection. This represents a conflict of interest situation and you would at a minimum need to disclose your affiliation with the publicity effort. - jmcgnh
- @Damianmhanley: Here's how I look at it: You are pushing for recognition of this novel mnemonic in a wider scope than you have so far achieved and seem to think Wikipedia is a suitable place to do that. The general opinion of the Wikipedia community is that the project is NOT to be used for this sort of promotion. There are two separate issues to consider. First, is the resource video being used by schools in Ireland noteworthy? That would be determined by looking at independent press reports talking about its creation, effectiveness, and extent of adoption. The second issue is whether this mnemonic is sufficiently widely used to be considered as a rival to the other mnemonics documented in the ROYGBIV article. That, again, would need to be attested to by independent press reports. Wikipedia's reluctance to give much weight to 'official' sources is well documented - we do not wish to be part of anyone's promotional efforts. — jmcgnh(talk) (contribs) 05:06, 1 April 2021 (UTC)

Reply on America 3000 Revision
Thankyou for the feedback, I am currently heavily trimming down the summary. I haven't added sourcing just yet for the article but I do have 5-6 different pieces of referential material. As for the glossary, The only reference I've found to any effort of attributing the invented words to English is that of a B-movie review website, which I don't believe is credible. Would you recommend I axe this section in its entirety? thankyou, WillKBeatty (talk) 21:05, 15 April 2021 (UTC)
Thanks & follow-up
Thanks for the quick reply. Looking at the fancruft page (which I had no knowledge of prior to this), I think that's definitely what's going on here. In this scenario, would the Album WikiProject be the appropriate place to ask for second opinions on these specific edits? I have noticed this user has done some disruptive editing in the past and also had some things reverted, so I don't think addressing them on their own talk page would do much good.—The Keymaster (talk) 06:55, 19 April 2021 (UTC)
Thanks
I followed your suggestions: Added the one book, and added all the ISBNs. Regarding a reference, I was thinking that the author's website might have been a good reference, but ... don't really know how to add a reference yet. Thanks for the assistance! Addua (talk) 20:32, 19 April 2021 (UTC)
