I am going to ask a newbie question about something i have noticed

I was wandering around wiki to look at some of the articles and I came across an article with only one reference and it got me to thinking about something! Does Wikipedia have a minimum number of references that an article should have and is there ever a time when just one reference is enough? I am just curious about that because most of the articles I was reading had lists of references not just one! Thanks in advance for answering this because I know it is a newbie question big time! Hi, OhioGirl42986. An article exists and is defendable against deletion if its subject meets notability requirements, regardless of whether that notability is demonstrated by the citations currently in the article. So, in principle, an article could have NO references, but that would be very unusual. If you see an article with just one reference, it should probably have a {{refimprove}} template on it to add it to the category of articles that need to be improved in this way, with more references. For some subjects, just two references might be considered sufficient, but nearly all subjects should have more than two.

This is different than the criterion applied to referencing individual statements in an article. For that, one ref is generally sufficient and more than two is usually discouraged.

[Oh, and don't call it "wiki" or you'll annoy some editors. WP or en-wiki are generally accepted as short for Wikipedia (or English Wikipedia, since that's where we're writing), but not "wiki". Wikipedia is built on software that can be referred to as "wiki" but there are hundreds if not thousands of websites using the wikimedia software (I had one for a while, but it got hacked by Russians so I took it down)].

[One more thing. It looks like you're not signing your posts correctly, so a bot comes along and re-signs them for you. Just use four tilde characters in a row like ~~~~. If your signature doesn't include a link to your talk page and the correctly formatted date, it's not going to be recognized as a valid sig.]

Hi Jim, just a friendly note to let you know your IRC bouncer, well, bounced, and failed to identify with Nickserv - You're "Guest76628" now! May I suggest setting up SASL, which has your bouncer authenticate with Freenode before it actually connects? I've had a lot less Nickname-related accidents since I set mine up! -- Cheers, Alfie. RAF Daylight Raid

So sorry to have you dragged over to that work page. I had not yet put a proper notice on the top to identify it as such. It is just a fun idea at this point and no where near ready for a review. Here I was thinking Bomber Command confined itself to night raids from 1941 through 1944, but that was not the case. They had a few tricks up their sleeve.
