Re: State codes for Mexico

[edit]
  1. ISO 3166-1 defines codes for countries, not states.
Agreed. I meant to say that the two letter codes are defined there; so the following ISO standard complements the previous one...
  1. ISO 3166-2:MX uses 3-letter codes for the states of Mexico (cf. [1].) There are two-letter codes present in the article ISO 3166-2:MX, but they have nothing to do with the ISO standard.
Spacepotato 23:36, 14 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
That's weird... Where do the two letter codes come from? The statoids.com reference cites HASC. Are you in position to confirm this source, to make the appropriate clarification in the ISO 3166-2:MX article?-- Louie 05:12, 15 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
The two-letter codes in ISO 3166-2:MX are different from those of HASC; I don't know where they came from. By the way, HASC is an invention of Gwilliam Law, the author of the statoids.com website, and has no official standing. Spacepotato 08:31, 15 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Boy, that's wrong!! Do you think it makes sense to delete that second column with the spurious two-letter codes? There is no reference for that supposed "standard" code. Louie 14:54, 16 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

re:es-mx

[edit]
Oh, thank you for fixing it, I made it based on the Castillian Spanish template but since that one is "es-es" I wasn't really sure which one goes first, one more thing though, could you add the template into this category: [[Category:User_es]] as well, thanks. Supaman89 01:46, 15 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Done. I hope it all works out well. Louie 05:19, 15 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

User es-mx

[edit]

Your original fix was fine - the reason the users still showed up in the old category was due to the way categories work - each user page has to be purged for it to update the categories.—Random832 21:13, 19 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Template:User catholic university requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section T3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a deprecated or orphaned template. After seven days, if it is still unused and the speedy deletion tag has not been removed, the template will be deleted.

If the template is intended to be substituted, please feel free to remove the speedy deletion tag and please consider putting a note on the template's page indicating that it is substituted so as to avoid any future mistakes (<noinclude>{{transclusionless}}</noinclude>).

Thanks. --MZMcBride (talk) 19:56, 20 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I added a couple of links (one of them to the userboxes catalog under userboxes/education) to the template to promote its usage, and removed the tag. Louie (talk) 00:55, 22 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Mexican music

[edit]

Hello Louis56:

I just want to say I started a section HERE for discussion of the business of listing musicians in the article.

I think it is better to discuss there than in edit summaries.

Best wishes, Wanderer57 (talk) 22:08, 3 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Just been able to locate the essay by Smith relating to speech acts. A very belated "Thanks" for the tip! Lindsay658 (talk) 20:40, 24 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Impersonation

[edit]

Thanks for the warnings, guys, but it seems to me that the edits referred to below were made by someone trying to usurpate my older account and effectively impersonating me. I've reported the incident and will keep you posted. Thanks again, Louie (talk) 18:30, 6 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
