Student assignments essential
[edit]WP:Student assignments is essential. Even at college level, teachers and their students have created non-acceptable new articles and damaged existing articles because of acting without guidance. To a different point, there may not be any local topics that meet Wikipedia's definition of notability. My guess is that there are existing articles about your high school and about the town. What other topics do you and the students think of notable? The criteria being that these topics have been written about in national or regional publications (not just local). Good luck.
