Information icon Please don't change the format of dates, as you did to Genshin Impact. As a general rule, if an article has evolved using predominantly one format, the dates should be left in the format they were originally written in, unless there are reasons for changing it based on strong national ties to the topic. Please also note that Wikipedia does not use ordinal suffixes (e.g., st, nd, th), articles, or leading zeros on dates.

For more information about how dates should be written on Wikipedia, please see this page.

If you have any questions about this, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Enjoy your time on Wikipedia. Thank you. -- ferret (talk) 21:19, 3 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Now, I know that PR China uses MDY date formats. While HK, Macau and RO China uses DMY date formats. Jitro160599 (talk) 23:41, 6 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I've no idea what format PR China uses, but Genshin Impact does not have a strong national tie in our views. So the original established date format should not be changed. -- ferret (talk) 00:10, 7 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
If you read MOS:DATETIES, which is a shortcut to a section of Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Dates and numbers, you will see that the date format of an article is only determined by the country the article has strong national ties to if it is an English-speaking country. The date format in the People's Republic of China outside Hong Kong and Taiwan, the format in Hong Kong, or in Taiwan are not taken into consideration because they are not predominantly English-speaking countries (or whatever kind of entity you choose to recognize them as). Date formats

[edit]

You have continued to make a large number of edits that do nothing except change an article's date format (or introduce what I assume are autocorrect errors). As explained above, this goes against Wikipedia's guidelines. Is there something I am missing? —Emufarmers(T/C) 21:58, 7 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

ArbCom 2024 Elections voter message

[edit]

Hello! Voting in the 2024 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 2 December 2024. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2024 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:53, 19 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
